A look at the midweek card

Print Friendly

We head back to Eagle Farm for the midweek races and a drop in grade after the big show day races last week.

The Rail is out 9m. The track should be a Good 3.

Here are a few that I think will run well and that we may be able to make a profit on.

BLACKBOOK:

August 22
FUSETTE EAGLE FARM R5 No.10 (1000m)
TAKE THE OATH WYONG R7 No.3 (1350m

THATS KARMA EAGLE FARM Rc 7 No.14

Race 1 No.8 TALE OF HARMONY

*Prices are not up as I type and if it happened to be too short I’d just let it go around.

*If the price is decent it does look to be better than a lot of these. Ran well behind Cuddlesome last start and this race looks very ordinary. Cahill takes the ride.

Race 5 No.10 FUSETTE

*Has returned a new horse this prep for Nat McCall.

*Gate 1- Colless- Back to 1000m all suit.

*Devil’s Melody will be the hardest to beat, but happy to have something on Fusette.

Race 7 No.14 THAT’S KARMA

*Always had a lot of time for this mare and I think this prep will be the making of her.

*By Pendragon so she was going to take time and Heathcote has been patient.

*Will get over more ground but 1500m perfect now.

*If she’s as good as I think she is, she should go very close to winning.

**Don’t like the first leg of the Quadrella Wednesday, so I have placed up a TREBLE. It will be updated around 9am Wednesday if needed after scratching’s.

Brisbane TREBLE:

9,10,12 —- 1,4,8 —– 1,2,14

**For those who get the chance to watch Race 6 at Wyong, watch the topweight from NZ- DUNDEEL. It looks outstanding and they are looking at Group races for three year olds such as the Sping Champion stakes etc.

For those who live on the Gold Coast you may know Adrian Johnston (AJ) from 92.5 Gold FM. He is the part owner of HELTER SKELTER, the very smart sprinter who now stands at stud at Craiglee.

AJ has started a Helter Skelter website and they are looking forward to the next few years as the horse was caught up with the EI a few years ago, but has had some nice horses come out of his very small first crop.

I will be catching up with AJ on a little segment pretty often where you can hear my thoughts on a few races. There will be a recording up later tonight on the site and I will attach the link below this article that will also take you to the Helter Skelter site.

You can hear my comments here http://www.helter-skelter.com.au/#!news/c19om
