A quick wrap up

What about the amount of talking points from yesterday?? The sport of kings turned on a beauty!

The Underwood, Silver Command, Better Than Ready, George Main… Where to start??

Let’s start at home. The ride of Maija Vance on SILVER COMMAND was the talking point here. I’m not one to bag a jock, let’s face it, it’s a damn hard gig. I’m also sure if Vance had it again she’d change a few things. It seems as though she simply got the speed massively wrong. She bussled him out, pushed him along and continued in the same manner all race. Don’t get it twisted, this was probably the best run all day in Brisbane. Hopefully she can keep the ride next start and make amends for punters because let’s face it, she has been riding well for a long time now..

It was a weird day with BETTER THAN READY also pushed along to lead and that backfired on connections also. His effort was also extremely good after being set a massive task.

In Sydney SHOOT OUT just beat RANGIRANGDOO is a terrific finish. Both horse were very good and bring on the Epsom with both! FAT AL didn’t go around this week, but they are the three that can win the Epsom.

LAMSERY also just edged out MOURAYAN. LAMASERY will be the one to beat in the Metropolitan, while MOURAYAN is well on track for a Melbourne Cup.

In Melbourne The Underwood Stakes is the latest lead up to the spring majors. OCEAN PARK made a mess of this field. He was outstanding and the Cox plate should be his goal. DECEMBER DRAW improved lengths on his 1st up run and you can expect the same improvement at his next start as he has had a long time off. He is one of my early Caulfield Cup hopes. SOUTHERN SPEED was also very good. I’m sure she has improved and is at the top of her game. Many want to bag MANIGHAR, but he can be forgiven for one ordinary run. I wouldn’t be jumping ship just yet.

I obviously have hours of replays to get over and the Blackbookers will be up through the week.

** I will try to get an article up this week looking at the spring features as I’ve had requests from punters looking to take some early prices..

I have just received this below from the breeders association:
