A Wrap Up from Eagle Farm

As many people may know we had one of our horses racing at the Gold Coast on Saturday so I do have a lot more replays etc to go over before I can post blackbookers.

Here is a quick look at the Brisbane races: (P.s Our bloke Screaming Jet was a great debut running 3rd)

Race 1:

Nice way to kick the day off with FUNTANTES getting the cash. DELAGO BOLT, FALINO and ADEBISI were all very good in an even race and all can go close again shortly.

Race 2:

Just another one of these staying races. FLYING HOME was expected to win and got the job done by leading all the way. I still don’t think that’s the best way to ride him but sometimes when you are the best horse in the race it’s just better to be out of trouble.

Race 3:

Probably the ‘give me’ bet of the day and it won with a leg in the air! VINTAGE MOSS had trialled like a bomb through the week and put panels on these.

Race 4:

We knew TERONADO was good, but wow! He was incredibly good. No doubt he will keep improving with racing as he still looks raw but he is a serious horse! He won by 3.5L running away and I think there are a few decent horses in his wake.

Race 5:

A really even race and it looked as though the roughie NOISY OCEAN had this won but FERMENT drove hard late to get his nose down. KURTLEY was good in 3rd, while ROCK HOME LATE is nearing a win also.

Race 6:

I think at the end of the day AVALADYLUCK who was heavily backed was pretty disappointing. She wasn’t beaten a long way but seemed to get every chance in this. DIVINE CITY was probably ‘overs’ at $7.80 and she proved too good. TICKET TO DREAM and PURE PURRFECTION fought out the minor money.

Race 7:

Most betting agencies had ELLAWISDOM fav around the $4.60 mark in early betting only for her to drift to $8.80 and give these a hiding. She has always promised to win a race like this but things fell into place to give her the opportunity to show what she has got. ELUSIVE STORM was the plunge horse and ran 4th.

Race 8:

Gee I thought SIR KNOX deserved to win this but unfortunately for those who had it in the quad (me, haha) he just failed to get there. HOLLYWOOD BOUND and SOUTHERLY were maidens not long ago and have stepped up in grade nicely.

**I just wanted to mention Chris Munce. He may have been a little overshadowed of late by the likes of Browne but let me tell you he is riding very well and I think he may well be about to go on a ‘Rawiller like’ run.

*Also just a quick mention of the Gold Coast Turf club. I dropped in to a function with First-Up Racing which everyone was having a great time at, and the owners room was also a good day. Unfortunately I won’t talk about a certain protest that ruined the day….. haha
