Just working through a couple of races as I get time heading into Saturday.
I’ll start with the Oaks and add others as we go.
OAKS 2000m. Race 8.
HELA the Tasmania filly is 8/8 and not much more you can do. She sits up on speed and has a turn of foot that just breaks their heart. Could be one right out of the box and this stable knows what ones to bring over for the big races.
Then we have STEINEM and she looks just as good. Her win at Sandown two back was exceptional and measured up on the clock also (2nd best L400m and 200m of the meeting). She then come to Adl for the lead up where she had to come from last and make a run around the entire field. She ran the fastest split from the 800-600m that day and it just took it’s toll late. Primed for this and the only issue will be traffic from the inside gate, over to you Jye McNeil.
The one that is forgotten in my opinion is FLEXIBLE. She was $4.80 in a G3 Adrian Knox and finished 3rd. The two horses that beat her than ran 2nd and 3rd in the ATC Oaks. She has always looked like a blinkers horse and she gets them here. Also has gate 4 and Pike to ride. The $15 surprises me.
If I’m playing the exotics I’ll stand them out and play wider after that.
