ANZAC DAY 2019

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

One of the great days every year and racing really isn’t important on days like this.

*To all those people that have served this great country we thankyou and hope you have a good day whatever you do.*

Punters want to punt and here are a few races at Beaudesert that can hopefully help you out through the day.

ANZAC DAY AT THE PINEY

Race 1:

Pretty ordinary race but if we are racing on a good track GWAPO can sit in the first couple of pairs and be hard to beat. He’s only won the one race in his career but it was at this track and his recent dry track form is good enough to expect him to be highly competitive here.

On Top – GWAPO $5

Race 2:

CHICAGO NIGHTS has won 1 of 24 so it’s hard to be confident but he brings form that is more than good enough to win this. He’s not great out of the gates but from gate 1 he should be able to land close enough and the apprentice takes 3kg off to get the lightweight also. The form from nearly any of his last five runs would just about win this so with even luck I’d expect him to go close. NOWISEVERYTHING is a bit of a one pacer but does race on speed, has won here and is going about as good as he can go. Feel SHINAR could improve sharply back on good ground. He is a far superior horse when he’s on firm ground and like the fact Oliver stays on him and he’s fitter for recent racing.

Having small win bets on CHICAGO NIGHTS $3 and SHINAR $7 .

Race 3:

Looks a three horse race, the Ethan Ensby pair of FENCOURT and LATINO and Currie trained EXCELEBRATION GOLD but very hard to split.

Race 4:

Bit of a guessing game how this race maps. I wouldn’t be surprised if they went handlebars down on BALERION, he has run some good races on speed and might be able to steal a break around this tight track but there is a big query the last 100m on him. No idea on what Lacy is thinking in regards to ARC OF GOLD but from the wide gate I’d just push on until I could slot in or if I had to sit outside leader than so be it. Last start was the first go at 1400m and although nailed on the post the run had merit for a poor race like this. She would like the edge off the track. THE DEMTAL MAN is a basic conveyance but so are the rest of them. Loomed as the winner last start and should be improved from the run.

If we are on a slow track I could back ARC OF GOLD and save THE DEMTAL MAN.

Race 5:

ALL STARS looks the winner but will need to be good out of the gates as it’s not a long run to the first corner. Has trialled twice for the new stable and been gelded since he arrived. If he can lead or find that spot outside leader he will be hard to beat. If there is a main danger it could be the stablemate BROOKER AVENUE who has only had the two career runs to date and finished 5th in them both. Hasn’t got speed early but if they go hard as expected he can be one of the strongest late. SPORTINI best of the rest.

Selections 1-6-12

Race 7:

Looks a decent little race and those on speed can dominate as long as the jocks don’t cut each others throats. FOR THE RECORDS should have the speed to hold out BRINKMANSHIP, MISHANI RULER and BIG LITTLE LIES. He was pretty good behind Don’t You Know Him at Ipswich last start and a repeat of that run goes close. Like Jackson Murphy on top and claiming, this might be his first winner since returning. BRINKMANSHIP might be the main danger and he can over race at times so hoping he doesn’t get pulling and add too much speed here.

On Top: 7-FOR THE RECORDS $5

Nest best: 2-1-4
