As I mentioned in the Weekend Wrap Up it is difficult Blackbooking horses from a heavy track. Many will improve lengths on top of the ground while others will be flattered from the bog that was EF.

The shining light from the Blackbookers this weekend was VO HEART who people may have realized was a great chance once the rain fell.

Blackbook additions:

GRIFFON– No luck at all. Will be well found so not sure if he may actually start ‘unders’ next run?

GUNDY SON– Always has a decent race in him and loved his last 100m. May be in for his best prep?

VILANOVA – Will improve lengths from the run and right on target for some good races.

BOUND FOR EARTH– Nearly the run of the day from an impossible position. Follow with confidence.

ALCANCIA– Just remains in the book. Again trapped wide where you didn’t want to be midfield which hurt the last 50m.

VIKING HEART– Made a stack of ground which was impossible on the day. Better for 1st run at 1600m.

RAEBURN– Not getting any younger and a tough horse to blackbook but he had a big weight over an unsuitable trip. I will follow at next couple of runs where he will be very big odds. Worth something small on in those events.

SURVIVED– Didn’t pan out and heavy track may well have been against. Very talented horse.

SYSMO– Really liked the effort and the surface just favoured the others late. Will win one over the carnival.

SOMEDAY– Terrific run fresh and he will continue to improve into the prep.
