Decent week last week with the $5000 Quaddie and a couple of Best Bets getting up at Eagle Farm.
Here are a few we might be able to follow out of it.
SPLENDIFEROUS– We were keen on Steel Prince who didn’t finish but said to make her a winning result. She was excellent. They went 14L faster than the benchmark and she was leading at the 600m. She stole a couple of lengths and then just kept finding under pressure. Anything suitable in the 2000-2400m range would be fine now.
SWISS EXILE– Again, they went 8.4L faster than benchmark and he gave an almighty kick. The effort told late but it was an outstanding run.
TYCOONIST– Keen to see where they go. Looked to have a bit to give and didn’t get the clearest path. Looks more a Ramornie or Eye-Liner horse than a straddy horse but I’m sure they pick the winnable path.
NAJMATY– Completely different gravy than these today. Drifted in the market but won like a moral. 11sec flat the L200m and clearly the best in the race. Not sure the target but anything over the 1200m-1300m at EF would look ideal.
