BOOM RACING THOROUGHBREDS OFF TO A BOOMING START

What a Fantastic Day at Doomben Racecourse yesterday with the recently purchased tried horse El Campeador saluting for new BRT owners in race 4 over 1200m.  The horse showed his strength over the last 100m to overwhelm his opposition in what was a surprise result.

According to leading Queensland trainer Tony Gollan before the race the horse was supposed to be midfield or a touch worse and work home nicely gaining some match fitness along the way to longer more suitable distances in the coming weeks.

Only problem being the horse had other ideas and finished off way too strong for his classy opposition providing his connections with an unbelievable thrill of Victory.

BRT Owners pictured below were all shaking with excitement before the race, during the race and were very hard to contain after the race. These first time owners in their first horse have a Brisbane Metropolitan Winner at their first start. It doesn’t get much better than that.

For us it was a sense of relief as the feeling now we are syndicating is that of not wanting to disappoint the owners that have bought into our purchased horses. Whilst we have experienced the best the game can offer over the past 10 years there is definitely a different feel now that we are actually the syndicator as well as being an owner in the horse.

There is still a big adrenalin rush but it is for the fact that we have pleased our owners more than anything, like in sport there are now expectations on us for our horses to perform.

 The Parade Ring

Watching El Campeador parading, looking a treat in our eyes although as described by Bernadette Cooper  “looking in need of a run” (a kind way of saying he is fat) got the heart pumping. The horse is an outstanding type, big and strong with plenty of muscle and bone, built like your typical miler –middle distance horse. Tony and Jockey Jim Byrne discuss race tactics with connections and everybody starts to get a little nervous.  The excitement begins!!

 The Race Itself

The nerves build up as you watch the starting gates intently to make sure the horse doesn’t miss the start. They’re off! You are watching the big screen. The crowd is silent. Where is he? Is he travelling in the run? Is he going to get out at the top of the straight? Here he comes! The Crowd is going off. Is he going to make it? He is still coming! They hit the line!! Did he win? Yes he did! You Bloody beauty!!! The phone starts ringing!!

Watching it still brings Goosebumps, the way the horse powered to the line winning in the shadows of the post. You could not script it much better than that. What a Race!! What a Win!!

 The Post Race Celebration

This is what every owner dreams of, being in the winner’s circle at a Metropolitan race day on a Saturday.  Few owners experience this unbelievable sensation. When you do it is like no other feeling in the world!

The Committee Bar After Party

There is no better place to be after a race than the Winners Bar where you are treated like a King or Queen with exceptional food and beverage service to your order. You watch the race replay at least 10-15 times and praise the jockey at least 100 times, though after his ride on Shipwrecked in Race 8 those plaudits were handed out way too early. Your phone has to be turned off because all your mates are calling you congratulating you on the victory.

Collectively you discuss where the horse his going next start and how great he went today. You mingle with the other connections, and slapping each other’s backs and shaking hands is the order of the day.  It’s a celebration! You are a Winner!!! Winners are Grinners!!!

There you have it guys proven success continues for BOOM RACING THROUGHBREDS. We could not have asked for a better start to the Syndication side of our Business.  We have our next potential star to take over from our retired Group 1 stars Temple of Boom, Spirit of Boom and Angelic Light. A Brisbane Metropolitan Winner first up from his spell with plenty of improvement in him and much bigger targets around the corner.

As you are all aware we have recently purchased six yearlings who no doubt will provide us with the opportunities once they hit the track to provide money can’t buy experiences like El Campeador yesterday. There are shares still available so get in quick and secure your share today and hopefully you too will be in the Winner’s Circle with BOOM RACING THROUGHBREDS.

Cheers

Jeremy and Andrew
