*VERY IMPORTANT to check back in Saturday morning after track conditions and scratchings are known**

Back to Brisbane for our ‘The Punt’ section.

It will not be massive detail again this week, but hopefully we can find a few.

*Here is a look at the card through my eyes.blackbook

Race 1:

Not interested in these staying races.

 Piney meals*

Race 2:

Don’t know enough about the first starters. The fact Heathcote has a 2 yr old running before xmas is a good steer and it is a massive bonus to have the run under his belt, but I’ll be buggered if I am going to take a short quote anything here.

Race 3:

Cracking little race. Those who have collected 3 straight on LA TIKKA ROSA will be falling over themselves if $3 or so is on offer (it opened that with Tatts). She is flying for Matty Dunn and can win this. The 58kg is the only question.

NUPTSE who has the good gate and fresh can be competitive and GALLINARI for Bryan Dais is the next best. She is underrated and could be in for her best prep.

On Top: 3- LA TIKKA ROSA

Hardest To Beat:  1- NUPTSE ,  10- GALLINARI

 Matt Dunn Racing*

Race 4:

DANYME $3.80 has been up a long time but gets Tim Bell on top here and should be able to sit in the first two runners without spending a penny. From there she should give a good kick and be hard for the back markers to run down.

DIENEKES the obvious danger and more than capable to roll forward as well. In well at the weights after the 3kg claim.

CLEVER HANS and SHOWMETHEMONEY can run into trifecta’s.

On Top:  4- DANYME  (much rather a Good-Dead track)

Next Best-  2- DIENEKES,  1- CLEVER HANS,  5- SHOWMETHEMONEY

Race 5:

NOTE- Weather all important! Top selections don’t want it worse that DEAD…

PLAYACTION and GOLD CAPE clashed a couple of runs back where GOLD CAPE had no luck. He has since gone to the Sunny coast and won an easier race with 59kg. He drops 3kg here and Colgan takes the ride. Happy to be on each way if $6+ is on offer.

PLAYACTION gets in nice after the claim and gets the gun run in transit from barrier 3.

BILLY AUCASH has had a month off but has run well off a similar break. Needs luck from the gate but worth some thought for tri’s.

If it got wet I’d be inclined to have something on LENTINI MIST at nice odds.

On Top:  4- GOLD CAPE

Next Best:  3- PLAYACTION

WET-  9- LENTINI MISTMaluaRacing...

Race 6:

RUDY was exceptional last prep, handles all conditions and must be respected.

Same can be said for GOING GOING GONE who is fresh here too.

I have a lot of time for Heathcote’s Mossman gelding NEUSCHWANSTEIN . He may want further but 1st up here and I’m sure it will have taken great improvement from his first prep and can sprint well fresh.

EPSILON is a speed freak with the run under her belt. I think she can see the 1000m out and will give them something to catch.

SIR LUMINAR may finally be coming right and has the fitness edge on some of these.

*Very tough*

On Top Value-  8- EPSILON  $8

Go wide in Quad.

Race 7:

LISTEN SON (SCRATCHED)would probably be a good thing with a dry track but that is now doubtful and I’d be surprised to see him run.

ELMANTOSH(SCRATCHED) is entered in Sydney too. If he runs here he will start fav, he deserves to, comes off a great win and anything over $4 looks fair.

Sense of timing with ZEDLION $17 for the red hot Matt Dunn stable. Handles the sting out, gets in on the minimum and has improved each run for the stable. Can win at odds.

If genuinely wet HOUR OF PERIL will run better than odds suggest. Ran well a few back when $ was around. Drops 10kg on latest effort and gets a track to suit (probably) don’t sell short if he has support.

THEFT? Up in gragde, drop in weight? Honest? Maybe…

On Top:  12- ZEDLION

Race 8:

Only a few chances and weather to play the biggest role.

Always been a big fan of ROCK ACADEMY. Although probably in ordinary at the weights he is a very good individual! I’m backing Dunn to have him spot on for this and probably just hoping for a dead track.

If TAX EVADER is right he would be the one to clean them up and would be in great at the weights, but is he?? How can you back him off the last run? Trialled like Tarzan and ran like Jane!!  A must for quad’s but can’t back him.

DIVINE CITY is better ridden just off the pace as she was last time and Munce gets a sweet ride 4th-5th here. Handles all conditions and in this up to her ears.

HAMPDEN wants dry? PRETTY GULLY ready to win but gate 12 may give them 2nd thoughts.

On Top:  13- ROCK ACADEMY

Next Best:  3- DIVINE CITY,  1- TAX EVADER
