Brissy – on ‘The Punt’

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Well hopefully punters backed SPARKLING SOUND midweek, but if not here are some more winners (hopefully).pineapple

For those who have followed the site you may have seen the article before but there was a good reaction from me re-posting it- On the front page of the site there is a FORM ARTICLE you may get something out of?

It has been a tough week sipping cocktails in Fiji but I am back on track now. Obviously no huge preview this week but I hope to get my points across.

**The big PINEAPPLE DAY looks to be the 8th February, so lock it in until I know more!

Blackbook Runners:

Trakstar – Doomben R2 No.6 (1600m):

Race 1:

More than keen to back FREEZETHEMILLIONS for the leading QLD trainer Matty Dunn.Fastnet Colt

Thought he had pulled the right rein heading to Sydney but the horse drew gate 2 and had a chance to hold the inside gate on the tight track but got back to last??? You can watch the replay and see what you think but I will just say it should be right up to this.

BURLEIGH BULLET gets in well and should be the hardest to beat….

UPDATE- Has been money for GOLD BUTTONS for good trainer David Murphy, may be a 3 horse quinella race?

Hardest to beat: BURLEIGH BULLET

Race 2:

Small field and although I wouldn’t talk people out of a bet there are to many questions for me to steer you in a certain direction.

Race 3:

Gee what to do here. Couple of good mates of Brissyraces in Nat McCall and Rob Heathcote have the leading chances – RIVER LAD and BRIBIE. ON one hand RIVER LAD is the consistent , underrated old sprinter and BRIBIE is the horse who promised a lot but has been hard to catch. RIVER LAD has to lump 60.5kg but I believe he is good enough to win. The harder the track the more it plays to BRIBIE.

BYMONASHEE is the greatest chance of rolling the two mentioned above.

*Happy to be with the proven horse in RIVER LAD

On Top:  1- RIVER LAD

Race 4:

Fair dinkum- Not interested! Grab a beer/wine and watch..

Race 5:

Horses I am a fan of here but have drawn wide. Can win but I can’t put them on top from wide gates at this starting point.

PEELINGS goes on top from the good draw, gets a nice drag into the race and hard to beat.

EUPHONIC may be next best, but tough race. Always liked IONA FAST ONE but faces a huge task here from the gate (not the quality)

On Top:  5- PEELINGS

Hardest To Beat –  12- EUPHONIC

Race 6:

With all due respect this is one of the weakest 3 yr old QTIS races in a long time and a few owners would be absolutely wrapped to be here!

SECRET HARMONY has class but can he repeat the dose from the 1st up run? Maybe but there has to be a question mark on it…

JET DOWN ON IT (SCRATCHED)looks a really nice horse but goes up 2.5kg on the last effort when beaten 3.7L (by a smart one!) He is the one who could just blow them away if run to suit.

Looking left field here and thinking REAL FAVULOUS and LYNARD SKYNARD can both go close at nice odds. Both have good gates and can race handy. Both have good trainers and jocks and should be respected.

*Many chances but feel you can work around 2,4,8 somehow.

Next Best:  8-LYNARD SKYNARD  ($18)

Race 7:

A few chances here. Think TOP RADA can win but willing to gamble with him a little here with 58.5kg and over the 1200m..

KEEP IT MOIST has been on the end of a few huge plunges so beware any money!!!!

Very little between MISHANI PERSAUDER and STAR SAMMY last start, and although MISHANI PERSAUDER should take more improvement from the run, STAR SAMMY gets the better run.

BELIEVE’N’RECEIVE drops back to 1200m, although I am never keen on horses dropping back in trip, it is a bonus here as this horse should thrive at the 1200m on pace. Colless will give it every chance.

CUM DIVIDED (can an owner give me the heads up on the name??) may well jump out of the ground 2nd up, beware.

*Hard gig again and just backing Dunn to pull the right rein with BELIEVE’N’RECEIVE back to 1200m.

Race 8:

Couple here that have done the job for us and hard to line up the form. Seven last start winners.

LITTLE BROWN HORSE is taking on the boys and giving some weight which is always a query. She is however dropping in grade after only being beaten 2.2L in the GC Goldmarket. Can measure up from gate 2.

BIG DECISION and DOCTOR DAVID come out of the same race that BD won. No doubt in the world DOCTOR DAVID should have won that encounter after striking trouble, however not sold on the 1350m for him just yet and BIG DECISION meets him better off at the weights?? The answer is a pineapple! Both have good chances.

FRAGEZEICHAN has come back great and winners galore come out of his 1st up run. Think the effort last start tops him off beautifully and he can be hard to run down as he will push forward. (value around $10)

ALL TAKEN has to have a change of luck soon?? Again draws wide and is again in danger of being trapped wide. That is the gamble but the efforts of late says it can win with the right run. (well over the odds around $21)

STARGRILL BOY got the cash last week as a blackbooker so hard to knock as well.

*Open and look for some type of value.

Value:   4- ALL TAKEN   $15

On The Up:  8 – DOCTOR DAVID

Race 9:

If you have gone skinny earlier this could well be the ‘field’ leg of the quaddie.

BINGO ROSE should be fav but gate 15 makes things tough.

BY CHOICE put the writing on the wall last start but gate 1 probably not ideal for him? Like BINGO ROSE they will need luck at the right time, both will fly late.

BAUKAW right up to this but quick drop in trip?

COUNTRY COMMAND better than it looked last time and gets a good run here, forgive? Yeah. (Has won on the back-up before)

CHALUPA is screaming to win another of these and gate 11 means they have to be positive or negative early, not sure they can be neutral and get cover?

*Been money for FRENCH LESSON who looks set up for this, respect

I am a believer in MORE THAN MONEY but it is just another I’d love to know tactics of… Do they go back again from the gate? Does that mean they spot too much start?

*Could go through every horse in the race and bore you but this is a dead set lottery!! I am landing on the one who should get every chance while others are praying for luck.
