NEW MEMBERS ONLY EVENT CREATED TO LAUNCH CARNIVAL
In 2016 the Carlton Mid Cairns Amateurs Carnival has been super charged with a new look and feel and the addition of several innovative events and packages that begin with a transformation for the members’ AGM into a swish cocktail party.
The event, free for Cairns Amateurs Carnival members, will be catered by the award-winning Ochre Restaurant and Catering and sponsored by CUB & Treasury Wine Estate will be held on Thursday 7 July at the Sister Cities Lawn on Cairns Esplanade.
Cairns Amateurs Carnival CEO, Graham Thornton said a thorough review of the program with a view to value-adding our members rewards, was impetus behind the change of timing and theme.
“Based on an exciting new social format that is absolutely free and exclusive to our members, we have created a truly special gathering that will also exist to provide key insights into the Carnival planning and this year’s marketing platform.
“Traditionally held on the Sunday following two days of racing, we have effectively turned the AGM from a subdued affair into a stylish celebration signalling the official launch of this year’s Carnival program.
“It is very important for our members to feel valued and while the AGM on the Sunday following the Carnival was an opportunity to celebrate the closing of another year, its starting position is more fitting and of value to members who can immerse themselves in a more spirited and exciting vibe as this year’s first official event,” he said.
Held in a picturesque setting on the foreshore of the Cairns Esplanade the AGM will not only serve to inform our members, it will also work to engage their passion and pride as ambassadors.
“There are no better sales people than our members – you could liken it to getting the word out – straight from the horse’s mouth!” said Mr Thornton.
This free, members only event will be held on Thursday, 7 July on the the Sister Cities Lawn of Cairns Esplanade from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.
Cairns Amateurs Carnival will be held from Thursday 8 September to Saturday 10 September at Cannon Park Race Course, Cairns.
