Carnival so far

Just a little update on the Winter carnival so far.

There has been a question floating around social media about “Who is QLD’s best horse at the moment?” It’s a pretty good question to as we have an ordinary bunch to be brutally honest.

Not counting the Dunn horses as they are NSW and I’m not counting Waller as a QLDer. You have HOPFGARTEN who was excellent on the weekend, hard to knock the old boy but wins are a bit harder to come by. ORDER AGAIN has to actually stand up and get it done. I’M A RIPPA is an improving type. I’m not sure about right now but I have no doubt in my mind SESAR will be the best QLD horse in 6-12 months time by a long way, he is a cracking type who improved all prep and his run in the G1 the other day was simply outstanding. Once he picks up the game and can start racing on bigger tracks he will go to another level.

Thumbs up

Although we got a heavy 8 surface it was good to see the track race the way it did Saturday with horses winning from everywhere. Also good to see a massive crowd on track for our biggest day and great to meet a heap of people that follow the site so cheers to those that said ok.

We head to IPSWICH for their feature meeting this week and dry weather predicted so even though it can be an extremely hard track to punt on with big fields I’m looking forward to the big day at the ‘Swich’.
