A few people have asked for a Blue Diamond tip so I thought I’d jump ‘out of my lane’ and just hand pick a few races interstate.
I’ll actually start in Sydney.
Rosehil Race 7 No.10-SAVATIANO $7
She opened $9 around the place and was keen at that price. She’s just a horse I have a lot of time for and had a few things happen in the middle of last prep. She’s had a good break and really liked the trial leading into this. Races just behind the speed and think she runs well, the e/w price disappearing so happy to have a small win bet.

Caulfield Race 2 No.13- LUNAR FLARE $5.50
She has improved at each run and last start was sharp improvement when the blinkers went on. From gate three she should be able to park on the back of the leaders and Nolen will be the first one to go for home. If she can repeat her last 400m from last start she is the one they have to beat. Obvious respect for ARAMAYO with blinkers and Bowman going on.
The BLUE DIAMOND Group 1 1200m
I have a ticket going with BROOKLYN HUSTLE so that’s who I will be cheering for (full disclosure haha). Look she can win and even though the stable were telling anyone that would listen that she would improve off that run you’d still have liked to have seen her do more than what she did. Bit of heat on Jason Warren so if he gets that improvement out of her he is a genius.
Thought LOVING GABY was clearly the horse they had to beat but hearing she will be looked at by stewards in the morning to see if she is fit to run after presenting lame Thursday.
I feel there are two roughies in what looks one of the most even Diamonds I can remember. BELLA ROSSA has only had the two career runs and both have been over the 1000m. Last start she just rolled in behind the leader and lost a little momentum but after the stablemate went past her she picked up and was as good as the winner through the line. I think she can land behind the leaders and is a better than $18 pop.
Everyone is in the girls corner but HAWKER HURRICANE has been very good at both his career runs to date. He has run the fastest last split in both runs and out to 1200m looks ideal. He gets the blinkers first time and if he is able to land in the first 6-7 one off the fence he will be one of the strongest late again.
