Caviar never been so good

Well I know we have all read and seen a lot of stories on Black Caviar but I’ll be buggered if I am going to stop putting them up! She is an absolute superstar of our sport and we should use her as much as we can while she is around to get people interested in racing and getting bums into seats at our racetracks when she goes around.

This is where we are very fortunate, her trainer Peter Moody, her jockey Luke Nolen and all her connections have been outstanding in all promotions, interviews and there is even a new Black Caviar website up for us all too enjoy.

http://www.blackcaviar.net.au/

There is also a competition you can join to guess her winning margin and time. You can buy all types of merchandise and gear that all profits go to the Olivia Newton John foundation. It is a great site and defiantly jump on and have a look if you are a fan of the champion mare.

I thought I would just give a little rundown of some of her career stats etc leading into her next run on Friday night at the valley in the William Reid stakes.:

*In her first preparation she had two starts winning by a combined 11 lengths.

*Her second time in work consisted of two starts also and won the Danehill stakes beating Wanted by ¾ and hurting herself in the process

*After a spell she came back for a single run winning the Australia stakes at the valley by 2 ¼.

*She then had 260 days off, She returned by winning the Schillachi, running 56.60, then won the Schweppes beating Hot Danish by 5 ½. Her last run that prep was her devastating win in the Patinack Classic running 1:07:96.

*This time in she has won the two biggest sprints in the land, the Lightning, giving Hay List a towelling in the process. And winning the Newmarket with 58kg and again running in the 1:07’s.

*She has a combined winning margin of over 35 lengths in her 10 start career.

*And has now earned her owners close to $2.3 million dollars.

The champ will take on a small but quality field this week and there are even buses that the turf club have put on for regional supporters called the Black Caviar express to allow them to get to the races. She has brought so much to the industry already and will continue to do so as long as she is around, so when Nolen lets her slide to the front on straightening Friday night lets all stand and applaud and really soak up how good this mare is and appreciate what we are seeing as me may never get the chance to see such a champion like her again.
