Congrats to team Green Moon

Good luck to anyone who had a collect on the cup!

Very rarely do we see a cup run at slow pace as we did yesterday. It was set up for the horses up on pace and Brett Prebble gave GREEN MOON the perfect ride. It just seems he struggles to carry big weights and always seems to struggle at WFA. Getting back to a handicap was the difference and after getting the right run he showed exactly how good he is. Lloyd and Nick Willams pump a heapof money into the sport and they deserve their success.

FIORENTE was the surprise packet for me. It was hard to get a guide on its form, but the run was very, very good. He looked the winner at the 150m but just couldn’t match Green Moon.

JAKKALBERRY ran up to some of his previous form around the world. He had a few excuses at Caulfield but it was hard to see him turning it around so sharply on the hiding he got there.

I thought one of the best runs in the race was MOUNT ATHOS. He just got too far back in the slow run race and copped a bump on the corner. He ran home as well as any other and the effort was really good. RED CADEAUX was also solid in defeat.

Damien Oliver gave AMERICAIN a 10/10 but again he was a touch disappointing and would have liked more pace in the race.

**The Oaks is the next feature and it looks a race in three. SUMMERBLISS, ZYDECO and DEAR DEMI are the quality fillies and should dominate the race.

ZYDECO will start a warm favourite but it may not be as clear cut as many predict. DEAR DEMI had no luck last start and does get a 2.5kg turn around on ZYDECO. DEAR DEMI will be ridden back and may even track ZYDECO in the run this week. They are the main two, but SUMMERBLISS is a filly on the way up. It may come a bit soon for her after only a couple of runs but she has a lot of upside.

MARAATIB the best of the rest for trifecta’s etc.
