Cox Plate wash up

*This week’s Wrap Up is just a quick look at some of the Cox plate runners, where they go from here and how they performed on the weekend.horseshoe

IT’S A DUNDEEL: Wasn’t sold on him around the Valley, with a set back and he also had very little luck. He will have a break now.

HAPPY TRAILS: Extremely good! I undersold him again and he again raced super. Heads to the Group 1 – 2000m race (MacKinnon) this weekend and will be the horse to beat.

GREEN MOON: OK. Nothing to write home about but there has to be a massive knock on his WFA form. Heads to the Cup now and he did improve lengths and explode off a similar run in the Cox plate last year…?

FIORENTE: Loved this run! Thought Shinn actually rode a very good race and the horse fought hard. This was a perfect lead up to the Cup and watch out come the first Tuesday in November!
MASKED MARVEL: Meh? I expected more but I guess he is looking for the 3200m and was well back in a leader dominated race. Liked him in the cup before this run, I am not willing to sack him but the confidence is a little dented.

SEVILLE: Great effort. Was the best of the sweeping horses, went wide early, kept running through the line and went slightly better than the favourite late in the race. Super cup trial and right on target dropping about 4.5kg into the Melb Cup.

FORETELLER: Good run. If you line this blokes form up he is a genuine Melbourne Cup chance if they decide to run. Likes Flemington, has a great turn of foot, has always run well at the 2400m + WFA and looks as though he will run the trip.
