THE CARNIVAL WRAP UP
Well it was a fantastic Melbourne carnival……………. For the bookies!!
It has been a long time since I’ve heard so many punters all telling the same story about the blowouts of the carnival. The problem wasn’t a roughie or two getting up, it was the fact 3-4 horses a day were $15-$20+.
That’s punting and sometimes no matter how good your form or speed maps are they can all be thrown in the bin. That’s why punting to a limit and then letting them go is an important tool to learn. I have been guilty of it in the past and things could have been even worse if I didn’t raise the white flag on Saturday!
Anyway let’s go over the carnival and find the 3 standout performers and the horses to follow.
THE OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES + HORSES TO FOLLOW OVER THE NEXT 12 MONTHS.
- PUISSANCE DE LUNE– Both the Bendigo and Flemington runs were outstanding and had to be seen to be believed. Pretty much untouched in front and winning by spaces. Looks the most exciting stayer we have seen in a long time!
- NECHITA– Unbelievable turn of foot and run 1:08:59 for the Flemington 1200m. I think 1200m is her limit but it will take a good one to beat her next campaign.
- SHAMAL WIND– 3yr old filly by Dubawi and she lit the track up running 1:08:32 on Oaks day. One of the most promising horses in Australia.
*That’s the end of Melbourne and we can focus on Brisbane with the handy Summer series and also a couple of feature races coming through from Perth!
**Also for the punters out there who are always looking for an edge you may have seen the latest banner on our site- PUNTINGFORM. It’s a newish website that allows punters to create their own systems, they have massive database of Trainers, Jockey’s Tracks etc, as well as some of the best form guides around.
Like I said most punters are looking for an edge and Puntingform may just be that. Jump on the site by clicking on the banner below, have a look around the site and see what you think!
