Dais Beggin for some luck!

One of the Brisbane trainers I talk to a lot is Eagle Farm based trainer Bryan Dais. He has a couple of nice horses in his stable but is praying for some luck with his nice Benicio mare Beggin.

Again on the weekend she was stuck four wide the whole back straight, and even wider on straightening before ending up the widest horse in the straight. Her effort under the circumstances was enormous and when she finally gets some luck I have no doubt what so ever she will string a couple of wins together. Bryan was thrilled with her effort. “I can’t remember the last time a horse was no closer than four wide the whole trip on a metropolitan Saturday and still hit the line that well. She is eligible for easier races, but she would get big weights in them too. We will nominate for a 1400m Class 6 plate in a fortnight’s time. I was just very impressed with her jumping from 1110m to 1350m and toughing it out the other day (after the tough run).”

Bryan also has a Jet Spur mare in tomorrow- Emmz Amelia, and he expects her to run well. He said he stepped up her work, she gets the blinkers back on Wednesday and he feels that she is as good as he has had her. She will most likely push forward from the gate and Bryan thinks she can win with Anthony Allen on board. She will be a nice price, and the young jockey may just be the best up and coming apprentice we have behind Tim Bell.

Dais also has a couple of nice unraced two year olds in the stable who had nice jump outs today and they will probably trial early March and he is confident we should see them later that month. I was also with Bryan at the January sales when he and owner Craig Morrisey picked up a Benicio colt that is from a nice family and was a real stunner that I’m looking forward to following in the future. Craig owns the nice two year olds as well, and I believe a ‘punters club’ from Wavell heights also have an interest in the Mossman colt. Good luck to all with them in the near future.
