Doomben midweek- Quaddie legs

Print Friendly

Let’s have a quick look at the Quaddie legs in Brisbane for the midweek card

Track- DOOMBEN

Rail- +7m

Surface- (Likely to be DEAD) but as usual showers predicted.Binoculars

***NOTE: This is done on a DEAD to GOOD surface. If showers hit before or during the day this can be overlooked.

Race 6:

PURE PURRFECTION is the class horse but has the horror wide draw from this killer starting point. Not sure what Schmidt does from there and that’s the biggest question. Obviously many will go one out in the first leg of the Quad.

If you are going wider- More on speck than anything but I feel TRILIONE for Less Ross and Colless could be an improver from a decent gate and back on to a better racing surface. Worth thought.

FRACTIONS gets a nice run probably 3rd the fence and gets every chance.

Kendrick stable going well and DEB’S HOPE the other chance for mine with just 51.5kg after the in-form Appo claims.

Numbers-  1- PURE PURRFECTION, 6- FRACTIONS, 8- DEB’S HOPE, 4- TRILIONE

Race 7:

PERSIAN STORM has its QLD debut here and the form down south should more than stack up. Two trials leading in and I’d expect a forward showing.

PURE WHISPER is very consistent and gets the gun run on the leaders back. That should be a big advantage on this track with the rail out 7m.

CLASSIC BEND gets the blinkers 1st time but more importantly gets back onto good ground, forgive the bog track run.

I’ve always liked MASTERFUL PLAY for Matt Dunn and although he gets the tricky gate I still give him a hope here. Ran well in an easier race at Rockhampton and drops 3kg here.

Hard to know what to make of PUNTERS PRIDE but must respect from the Heathcote yard and getting off the wet track here.

**PERSIAN STORM would not like any rain to hit the track…

Numbers: 3-PERSIAN STORM,  9- CLASSIC BEND

Others:  4- PURE WHISPER, 11- MASTERFUL PLAY, 12- PUNTERS PRIDE

 Total trio

Race 8:

Couple of dual acceptors so interesting to see what runs. This is extremely even and luck in running will play a big part. I think BANCHORY LASS, PURE REALITY and BRITALIA KATE can all sit in the first 5-6 on settling and that should be advantageous. BRITALIA KATE has to lump 59kg which is an issue but has D.Browne to overcome that! PURE REALITY always promised a lot and if she brings her A-game this is again right up her alley.

ATLANTIS GEM gets in ok after the claim and the main question is just how mush start she gives away from the gate.

BEACH BABE and MADAM TRACY are up to this but both will go back and need speed on to run over them late. If that is possible this time of the day they are live chances. It may be impossible as we have seen in recent months with the rail out though. BEACH BABE’s form behind Tiger Dimejan and The Conspirator last prep would win this.

**Probably wide Quaddie leg.

On Top: 13- BEACH BABE

Others: 10- PURE REALITY, 5- ATLANTIS GEM

Race 9:

If the track is fair there should be enough pace to give most of these their chance.

GOTITALLWRONG and JACQUETTA fought out a midweek class 3 last start and no reason they can’t be competitive again, they will just need good rides from their gates.

NO WIN NO WINE usually goes back but will hit the line hard here fresh. Really improved last prep and is up to this on her day.

SHADOW ME 2nd up, back to a better surface for the firing Allard stable makes a case for itself too. Was well beaten by a swimmer last start but I’d be very surprised if it doesn’t look the winner at some stage.

On Top: 10- SHADOW ME

Others: 5- JAQUETTA, 8- NO WIN NO WINE

QUADRELLA NUMBERS: **I was going to thin this out but with showers predicted I will be going wide if it does hit before the quaddie kicks off. If the track was DEAD or better I would be happy to take PURE PURRFECTION one out in the first leg.

1,4,5,8 —- 3,4,9,11,12 —- 1,5,10,13 —- 5,8,10
