Doomben Wrap Up

Print Friendly

Decent sort of day I guess. Hopefully people found some winners from the preview. A few short ones early so not a lot of value but a good days racing with the weather holding off.

Race 1:

Look this may say a slight margin to SARISARA but she is a good horse and this win is better than it looks. 58kg on a 2 year old filly, that is tough and she was under the odds but simply too good. Nice little horse.

Race 2:

AGITATE with Colless on board, he could ride a rocking horse to victory! Jumped, led, got it good and was too classy.

Race 3:

These staying races are good if you are the new horse on the scene as they take it in turns. I think HI SON is simply a better horse than these and just had to stay the trip. He did it easy and should have probably won by more. He can go back to back.

Race 4:

Can’t take anything away from this other than The White Hope was a bit disappointing. They tried something different and took a sit but he simply doesn’t seem to be going as good as he was before the injury. Not following any from this race.

Race 5:

It worked out perfect for Browne and he put in a beauty here. EXCELLANTES enjoyed the drop in grade and saluted. I thought KEEP IT MOIST was a chance here and it ran very well after burning fuel early. More than happy to throw him in the blackbook and follow.

Race 6:

Looked like a two horse war and that is what we got! TRAKSTAR put his head out for us and got the cash. It looked as though CARMORA had pinched it on the corner and even when headed it gave a great kick to just miss out.

Both horses can be followed with confidence, VIKING HEART and DANAGAZE also not far off a win.

Race 7:

Bit of money for TOTAL AUTHORITY and EXCEEDINGLY, they fought it out and it was a great battle to watch. Both will figure in these QTIS events over the next month.

The favs looked ordinary but you must be forgiving. CHOOSE A SAGA was wide the entire and forget ANYMORE went around. There will be a race for it shortly, and it will just win!

Race 8:Piney day

Go forward, go back, doesn’t matter if Glen Colless is on board. He dropped BUAKAW straight out to last, saved ground during the run, popped out and got the cash. Dunn has worked this horse out and has it going very well.

Many good runs behind, MISHANI PERSAUDER, MISS IMAGICA, LOST WORLD were all good and the effort by our roughie ALL TAKEN was huge after sitting up on a hot pace.

*****Really looking forward to our day at the Pineapple Hotel next Saturday (8th Feb). I will post again before the day but hope to see as many people as possible come along.

Everyone is welcome so bring some mates and let’s have some fun!!
