Dunn happy with stable stars

As many readers would know I race a couple of horses with Matthew Dunn out of his picturesque Murwillumbah stables. He is a good young trainer with a decent sized team who always seems to keep up one of the best strike rates in QLD/NSW.

The stable star at the moment is The White Hope who was beaten 1st up but far from disgraced. On that occasion two horses committed suicide and pushed up on the outside of The White Hope and simply packed it in at the 600m. I believe it was a ridiculous circumstance and the first 600m run in 33.05 ? Nothing could have won leading on that tempo and he beat the other ‘leaders’ by about 4-5L. We are likely to see him step out again in a fortnight.

Vis A Tergo ran well on Saturday when ridden a bit closer. She was used up a little early but she looked the winner at the 200m before being swamped late and she will improve again off that run. “It was only her fourth run and she will now go to the Listed 1600m race in two weeks and hopefully draw a gate.” Dunn said

One of the best two year olds in the stable is Londehero who had the two starts last prep for an outstanding second on debut and a third in his next run. On that debut run you can expect to see a very nice horse this preparation and he will trial tomorrow.

The other horse who has just kicked off a campaign is Qfighter and he was very good 1st up. He is nominated in a couple of races but will most likely head to a 1000m Qtis race in a fortnights time. The key to Qfighter is dry tracks so you will find that is what Matt will be searching for. He is a good horse on his day and is sure to win more races.

One of our horses with Matt is Screaming Jet and he will enter the stables in a month or so and I may pop down and take a few photos of him in the stables and doing a bit of work. There are far worse ways to spend a morning then driving down the highway with a coffee to see your horses! Not A Single Doubt filly

I know there is handful of yearlings from the recent sales that you can see on his website now so check them out by clicking on the banner on the side of the page or below.
