Eagle Farm Saturday

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Roller coaster week. Bad day at Grafton and ordinary day at Doomben until LASHONI got the cash at $12 in the last to save the week.

Extremely busy with a lot of things on this week so no time for a full preview.

Race 2:

INGEAR looks very well placed. Led and was great through the line last start in a dominant win. I can’t take odds on though. CLASSIC GAMING and DREAM OF BISCAY the next best in my eyes.

Numbers: 12-8-6

Race 3:

Bookies must be laughing they just keep piling into REDOUTES IMAGE. She again draws perfectly and will again get the gun run in transit. She’s not one for me and can’t believe she is as short as $2.70. Too many queries in the race for me.

Race 4:

Looks the most interesting race of the day. PLATINUM EUROS and RUUCA are both well above avg. Unfortunately one must be beaten Saturday. Edmonds camp have always liked RUUCA and he won well in Melb beating Niedorp before being well beaten at G1 level. Back to a CL3 here. PLATINUM EUROS ran the best 800-600-400-200m of the meeting last start. He should be improved by that and if Stewart rides him like he did last start and leaves him 250m to sprint he will be hard to beat.

On Top: 7-PLATINUM EUROS $3.60 and 8-RUUCA $2.20

Race 5:

Another race I feel the market has it about right.

I’d have loved 1800m but back to the mile isn’t the end of the world for SLOW HANDS. Any rain on the day would be a positive. He sits not far from the leaders on a below avg tempo. PLITVICE will get a tow into the race on his back and may well sprint better than SLOW HANDS. If it turns into a slug fest SLOW HANDS can be better the last 50m.

On Top: 7-SLOW HANDS $3.60

Next Best: 1-PLITVICE

Race 7:

I’ll be cheering BOOMTOWN LASS of course and she is a genuine winning hope. I just can’t forget how easily EPIC GIRL beat her up last time they met. She was way too good then and she gets a claim to get in well at the weights. They look the main two, both up on speed and will take plenty of catching.

On Top: 3-EPIC GIRL $3.10

Hardest To Beat: 5-BOOMTOWN LASS

Race 9:

Hard to be keen on anything. BALLISTIC BOYS bets would just be winning but the stable is having a quiet patch and this horse was plain last start, not sure what to make of him.

STAR OF MICHELIN was great late fresh, a month between runs keeps him fresh, just keep thinking he’d be better at a mile.

After making NAVAL STRIKE a best bet at $16 and it running like a busted arse he then come out and won at $51. Up in weight makes it tougher here.

The best roughie might be EPICURIOUS. She improved each run last prep and raced some decent horses. Recent trial was good and the $26 opening price was wrong. The obvious concerns are 1400m fresh from gate 14. Feel Boris will suit this horse as he is very patient.

Roughie: 10-EPICURIOS $17

GIBBOS BEST:

Race 5 No.7-SLOW HANDS $3.60

Race 7 No.3-EPIC GIRL $3.10
