Matt Dunn Racing

Thanks to Our great sponsors Topline, Tatts and also Matt Dunn racing. I know Matt likes the style of the Not A Single Doubt filly he picked up from the Millions. Hopefully I can win enough Saturday to jump on board! Here’s hoping..

NOTE:::  QUADRELLAS have been updated 8:15am QLD.. Other selections fixed up after 9:30..

We head to a very damp EAGLE FARM Saturday!!

For those readers south of QLD the E-F heavy track can be far more testing than the Doomben track. Rain during the meeting would be a disaster and I’m not sure it would cope with a full meeting. Long story short if the rain predicted hits Friday arvo/night it will be an extremely testing track in my opinion.

Race 1:

Pretty keen DAZZLE US here. The early mail Thursday read like this-

DAZZLE US

*Should be around $4-5 and I think if the e/w is available that looks great.

*The key was getting to the longer trips and he will be better for the last start run over 2000m.

*That was a good race and he handles the wet also.

*Really like this race for him.

HANDSOME, STOP CRYING and VEETEN could be the obvious dangers and do have claims but Im happy to back DAZZLE US confidently e/w at the $4.50 on www.tatts.com

On Top:  7- DAZZLE US

Others: 5- VEETEN, 10- STOP CRYING, 4- HANDSOME

Race 2:

Hard to get excited here. Don’t like the race, especially on a heavy surface most have not seen!

Race 3:

BYMONASHEE deserves to win a race like this. If you can make ground this time of the day he will be hard to beat. Wet doesn’t concern me but gee its an open race.

SKATING AWAY flying at present, 2nd up heavy track the ??

BEAUFORT GYRE’s best runs have been on these type of tracks, respect.

**Long story short I probably won’t be betting

On Top: 7- BYMONASHEE

Race 4:

What do we expect from ALLTHERIGHTMOVES?? Showed incredible potential and was very ordinary last prep..

Keen again here on TOP OF THE ROCK at $7.50. ‘Early mail’ said

TOP OF THE ROCK

*Really liked her last couple of runs in harder races.

*Gets in with 54kg after the claim and I’m sure the money will come if the track is the expected ‘heavy’ rating

BLACK MAGIC is a blackbooker and is ready to win. The heavy surface is the big query but if they run she must be respected.

ALCANCIA is flying this prep (as is the stable!!) and is on the back up. She handles all conditions and she is also a very generous $7.50 on opening prices..

GATINEAU RIVER is in career best form. Back to fillies and mares and the claim helps.

*An even race with more chances than those named but I like the value in TOP OF THE ROCK if we get the wet track.

On Top: 8- TOP OF THE ROCK e/w @ $7.50

Race 5:

LOUPETS $5.25 and COMMANDARE $5.50 get a lot of favours here. Both should get through the ground, both will be up on pace and they should be able to control the race from there. COMMANDARE is looking for a hat-trick and goes up 1.5kg on those wins. LOUPETS who is also looking for a hat-trick drops 3kg on his last wins which were in easier company.

If there was one to come from behind it may be EMVOSS who I have always had time for. It has been around 10 starts since he saluted but he may well be back to his best this prep and the Edmonds stable is going very well at present.

FITNESS FANATIC has not got a great heavy track record but is going as well as ever, hard to leave out.

I’ve also had time for VERDASCO and he joins the QLD stable here. Although he has been going ordinary, he is good on his day and I’d watch any money trail…

Great to see MARGINS back, won on a heavy 1st up last prep but you’d think 1200m would be a bit sharp here off a slow tempo.

On Top: 10- EMVOSS

Others: 2- COMMANDARE, 12- LOUPETS

Race 6:

Snapping up the $4 for the other early market selection.

CASH’N’STYLE

*I fell for him early in his prep but he took longer to hit his straps.

*Rock hard fit and he holds his form when he is up and going.

*Meets Boys On Tour 1.5kg better off and with that horse in the race I think this horses’ odds will make him a nice bet.

BOYS ON TOUR is in super form and is the one to beat. He loves the mud but most importantly he has brought his manners to the track lately and not missed the start as he usually does.

DOUBTFUL JACK, SPOT ON TARGET and SECRET GARDEN all handle the wet extremely well and have to be some hope here.

TOKAMAK is airborne but not sure if he will back up if track is heavy?? Respect if so.

*May be more pace than expected. Chance 2,3,4,7 all pretty keen to take it up…

On Top: 5- CASH’N’STYLE

Hardest To Beat: 1- BOYS ON TOUR, 2- DOUBTFUL JACK, 3- SPOT ON TARGET.

Race 7:

As usual a pretty even 3 year old race.

CONGO is a very good galloper and I’d be very keen on his chances on a dry track. In saying that he ran well with no luck on a slow track last start so not hopeless by any means..

Many are saying CARMORA simply had it too easy last start but I think he was very good. You can tell he is still learning the caper and he pretty much races with the ears pricked doing it easy. I haveno doubt he improves again here and will take a stack of beating.

There is often a horse on the way up jump out of the ground in these races and REPUTED may be that horse. I really liked what I have seen in his last couple. He looks full of talent and I think getting to the big E-F track will be the key to this bloke. He also drops 6kg from his last run and meets YOU’RE MINE (who beat him) 5kg better off.

LITTLE LONG HORN steps to the 1500m for the first time but the wet is in his favour… Not sure what to make of him, but he is not the worst. ROYAL JESTER finally broke through and has always promised to be a decent horse.  This is a big step up but worth thought for tri’s etc.

ELMANTOSH (2nd to CARMORA last start) and SUPREME SLEDGE (last start winner) also have claims.

*Good race but think the two up and comers are main players.

On Top:  4- CARMORA

Hardest To Beat: 13- REPUTED

Others: 1- CONGO, 8- ROYAL JESTER

Race 8:

Hard to knock SHAFEEQ but this looks a lottery and I would be going wide in quaddies. BORDER REBEL, SHAFEEQ, SIGNIFIED are going to be market leaders but I feel JUGAHLATION, HAIZUM and TRAIL BOSS all have a great chance here..

Simply because I think if we even make it to this race it will be a bog, I will look for value and throw JUGAHLATION on top @ $13 on Tatts. He does drop back to 1000m but on a bog track that won’t matter. 52kg after the claim is very clever from David Murphy!

*chances galore!

On Top: 10- JUGAHLATION
