*Out of the Caufield Cup there is nothing you could do than back INCENTIVISE. Gee he was good. He’s run the best L400m of the race and the 4th best L200m. The way he travels in his races is just ridiculous. Doesn’t waste any energy and there is no doubt that Flemington suits him best. He was winning over those shorter trips simply because he’s so good. This is his wheelhouse, at 2400m+ he just has a set of lungs they can’t match. He looks the one they all have to beat. So can they beat him?

I believe DELPHI is the one who might be able to. The Freedman’s are about the best trainers in Australia in my opinion. I just hope they ride this horse properly. It’s like they have fallen into the trap of trying to ride like the Europeans and grind them into the ground. The run three back he was ridden nice and the effort was excellent even though beaten a nose. Let rip at the 800m two runs back, run the quickest splits for the next two splits to hold them off nicely but I hope they don’t do that in the cup. The CC was a disaster. The wet worried me but Oliver taking it up and then was always going to be stuck on the inside when other attacked. I’m forgiving it and just hope they draw a gate and decide to ride somewhere in the first 7-12 settling (anywhere midfield or just better) and track a horse into the race and ride him like any other horse. He’s got a turn of foot and can hold that speed. It’s gonna be a task to beat INCENTIVISE, he looks the one but with a dry track I still think DELPHI is some hope.
