Here’s a quick wrap up of the early market selections as given on RadioTab with Steve Hewlett this morning,
This week I am pretty keen on an all-up early in the day, especially if Doomben can get back to the dead range.
Race 2 no 2 SHAMARDASHING
*Loves Doomben
*On the back-up and steps to 2000m which suits.
*Race has little depth and I’m sure he will start odds-on Saturday so anything better than that seems fair.
Race 4 no 2 MYSTICAL GREY
*Very underrated.
*Has the ability to run sectionals and win off a slow pace.
*Some may question the 13500m second up and I agree to a certain point. I’d rather it be 1500m, but missing the run last week keeps him fresh enough to win this and on his day he has lengths on most of these.
**Others I felt are worth following at e/w odds were
Melbourne Race 3 no 11 PRONTO PRONTO
*He has a heap of upside and gets a good run on pace over the 1400m at Flemington which is important.
***In Sydney I was going to select NARCISSUS but on the heavy track it may just be worth watching him and following towards the slipper as he looks pretty talented.
