Early weekend mail

Here is this weekend’s early mail.

We have a couple of shorter selections I think will just win and two later in the day that should represent a bit of e/w value.

I’m not big on backing shorties so I will be all-up the first two.

Brisbane Race 2 No.1 LONDAHERO

*Should have won on debut.

*Only one trial into that.

*Serious horse who has better in front of him. I would rather 1200m for him but he can get a good run close to the speed here.

Brisbane Race 6 No.1 SIZZLING

*Picks himself with a good gate at set weights.

*Something would have to go wrong or him have no luck to see him being beaten.

*None of these would get within 1.5L of the best sprinting 3 year olds in the country like Nechita and he was sore after that effort and should have gone closer.

These two are over the e/w mark and look tempting in early markets.

Brisbane Race 7 No.4 RISK AVERSION

*She is always a slight risk as she gets back and want pace on. Many were dirty at her last run but she was ok. I expected more pace in the race and so did the punters but when the leaders dropped anchor she was no hope.

*Bigger field, Munce back on and getting to 1300m are all in her favour. Around the $6 mark looks a good price.

Brisbane Race 8 No.13 ROYAL SHOUT

*I have to admit I’ve never been a big fan of this horse but his last couple have been very good.

*Comes out of a good form race behind Saluter. Spinhro has come out and run particularly well in town last Saturday and Altai Warrior won Wednesday. ROYAL SHOUT beat them home and I liked the way he finished off that day.

*Should push forward and run well at decent odds again. I’d be throwing in quaddies at the very least.

‘THE PUNT’ preview will be up Friday arvo.
