Gibbo’s Early Market Selections

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

For the new followers of the site, I try to put up the Early Market Selections that I give on RadioTab of a Thursday morning where possible. It simply gives you a few to look up and make your own mind up about leading into the weekend. Who knows you may just pick up a horse well over the odds on early markets.

This week the horses are:

Brisbane Race 3 no 13 BEGGIN  – $21 + $6 (tatts)

*Has had no luck with barriers this prep but gets gate 3, steps up to the 1600m and Bryan Dais  who is a smart trainer has now put the nose roll on also in what I expect to be a good gear change.

*She seen more of Nudgee road than she did the inside rail last start, so forget reading her form on paper. That was a total forgive run and was actually very good.

*Very happy to be on her at the big odds e/w and think she can run really well.

Brisbane Race 6 no 6 CARRY TO FORTUNE

*Won or placed in 9 of 13 starts over the 1000m trip.

*Ran very well and looked the winner in a strong 1200m race last start but faded late. Freshen up and back to 1000m is the key.

*54kg and Colless to ride from a good gate means they all have to run her down to win!

Brisbane Race 7 no 15 THE REVELLER

*Matt Dunn (  )got Altai Warrior up at double figure odds on Wednesday and this horse is very similar in the fact he need luck because of his pattern of getting back.

*Gate 16 is not great, but I think it will mean they will get him to the outside, which has not been the case of late.

*If the pace is on as I expect he can rattle late, and should be around the $8 mark.

*No ‘good thing’ but worth plenty of thought as he does have a hell of a lot of ability.

Brisbane Race 9 no 5 PURETTAN

*Second run for Toby Edmonds ( ) and is likely to improve.

*Was wide and very strong late over the 1200m last time.

*Not a great record at the 1400m, but think he is ready for it now he’s a bit more mature and stronger.

*Another at decent e/w odds.

As you can see there is massive value amongst the early selections and we would only need one to win or a few to place to have a decent day.

Anyway, you can do your form on them and make up your mind.

The Punt preview will be up as usual tomorrow, so check it out and send a link to your racing mates!
