Just very quickly on Rockhampton Friday. I haven’t done the whole meeting but I just wanted to mention two that interest me on the card.
Race 4 #5 CHEZBLACK $3.80
A get back horse who should be suited by the track. Returned off a long break in an easier race at Mackay and warmed up late. Has a huge turn of foot late and will again go close. This issue is $8 into $3.60 so we’ve missed some value there.
Race 8 #1 SPECTROSCOPE $8
Big weight and a wide gate but I was amazed $10 was freely bet. As far as the gate goes you have the right bloke on top, B.Stewart will get that done. He is 2nd up and all his form in Qld is around Niccanova etc. With any luck in running I feel that’s a good price. BARGANNON gets the good gate and runs well for Van Dyke. It’s hard to knock winning form but ABSOLUT ARTIE is $2.70 fav and the two horses he has beaten in his last two wins line up at $41 and $101 here.
GOLD COAST TURF CLUB SATURDAY:
We got our noses in front again and are having a good run at Aquis Park lately. We have a drying track and it looks a far better days racing than what we’ve seen the last couple of weeks. A couple of these races will have some good form come out of them.
