Gold Coast Wrap Up

Here is what happened at the GC in boiling conditions!

Race 1:

The leaders went silly and simply gave each other no chance! Surprising sometimes how the speed can be ridiculous but they keep going at each other.

Swoopers were always going to get over them and not sure many stood out. Lots of good runs. Winner- NO PROBLEM was very good, as was STAR PASS, TALES OF FASHION and FAST RAIN.

 The Wrap Up

Race 2:

We got the cash here with NAVELINA, an up and coming filly with a decent future. She was really suited 3rd up in her prep getting out to the trip. She can continue to race well. OUR ZIDANE and HOT SAGA were good, while RUDY was the unlucky runner and should have nearly won. The 1800m range looks ideal for RUDY and although he has been costly don’t put a line through him.

Race 3:

They went silly up front here and not too sure what to make of this form. The leaders were given no chance so be forgiving. TYPHOON RED was good but PRIMED TO WIN just needed a pinch of luck to go close.

Race 4:

Well another cracking pace and another swoopers race… Not many 900m races around and not sure what to make of it. I have always said THE RINGMASTER is better ridden off the pace and that had to be the case here over 900m. The ironic thing is he could have probably been another length or two back again.

Race 5:

Really good little race! All 3 placegetters are very nice. FLIGHT KING led all the way with sustained speed and showed he is a serious horse. Liked SIEGFRIED and he will furnish into a beauty come the winter time.

Race 6:

A few tragedy’s here! Our selection WALHAAN got too far back and didn’t get the best of luck, he will win one shortly. If you thought he was luckless check out HI SON, he was nearly on Bundall road the entire trip and covered more ground than Burke and Wills! Real nice horse who just wants a big track.

Race 7:

Well done to Alicia Willick and connections! They rolled the dice with a track specialist and got the cash. What do we make of the race and who do we want to back going forward? My answer is nothing again at this level, only if they drop in grade.

Race 8:

INTERJECT was simply too good, rounded them up quickly late. Again JACQUETTA missed the start and was planted wide! Again she put in and ran well… Wait till she draws a gate. MISHANI PERSAUDER was well backed and can salute one day soon.

Track looked to race better down the outside although a couple were won by leaders getting off the fence. My thoughts are that most of this form will not stack up.

How do they react at the track? Do they panic and somehow turn it into a leader bias track for millions day?? Or do they stick with the same and it race how it did today? Although it did race to the middle I have no doubt the tempo was a huge factor.
