We are in for a great days racing on the weekend and we can expect the return of a few really smart horses.
*Unfortunately Atlantic Jewel’s campaign is over and will not be spotted over the spring carnival.
The G3 San Domenico in Sydney sees All Too Hard hit the track again and all reports are he is bigger and stronger. He has the chance to come out from his big half-sister’s shadow and become a champ in his own right this time in work. The Caulfield Guineas will be the end target but he should be winning a few in the lead up to the grand final. Driefontein and Snitzerland are high quality fillies lining up and the interesting runner is Ninth Legion who I expect to improve out of sight on his first preparation. Some horses are simply ready-made sprinting two year olds, but some like this guy just do it on raw ability and then come into their own as three year olds. Here’s the field below.
No. Horse Trainer Jockey Barrier Weight
1 1112x ALL TOO HARD Michael, Wayne & John Hawkes Dwayne Dunn 2 59kg
2 111162x DRIEFONTEIN Gai Waterhouse Tommy Berry 5 56kg
3 2x1142x SNITZERLAND Gerald Ryan Corey Brown 6 56kg
4 115x NINTH LEGION Anthony Cummings Peter Robl 3 56kg
5 1×8 DON’T BLINK John O’Shea Glyn Schofield 4 54kg
6 74 MATAVAI Norman Rogers Nathan Berry 1 54kg
Samaready will step out at Caulfield and from all reports Mick Price is very happy with the filly. She has 58.5kg in the Quezette.
Said Com also steps out in an open handicap at Rosehill and will be looking to reproduce his outstanding first up performance.
On top of that we have a great card in Brisbane on another good track and I can’t wait to sink my teeth into ‘The Punt’ section this week.
