As the weekend approaches our website does steer a bit more into the punting side of racing. As people would know I have been doing an interstate video preview of the feature races each week since the carnival kicked off. Although not totally comfortable in front of the camera, a lot of people have enjoyed it as we have had a bit of success doing it. However this week I am trying something else with the interstate selections.
I was on 4tab (1008am) this morning again with Steve Hewlett, and there may have been a lot of members miss the interview, so I thought I would do an article on the horses that I felt were my best chances in Sydney and Melbourne. I will just give you the race and horse numbers, and the reasons I feel they can win and you can decide what you do with the information.
So it’s a different interstate preview, but I hope you like it. As is the case with “The Punt” feel free to print it off or send a link to a friend if you think they would be interested.
GIBBO’S INTERSTATE MAIL-
Melbourne Race 5 no.10 TESTA MY PATIENCE.
*This guy got way out of his ground first up and rattled home to be beaten narrowly by Atomic Force. That horse has since come out and been beaten a nose in a group 3 last week.
* He is more than capable to get the ‘gun run’ in transit as a few of the main chances are going to have to push forward from avg gates.
*As Steve said in the interview, a lot of these other horses have had a lot of chances and don’t win often.
* He should be a decent each way price $4-$5 .
Melbourne Race 6 no.8 HALLOWELL BELLE.
*Another one who gets a great run from gate 5.
*She gets in well with the weights scale.
*She handles Caulfield.
*Her last 50m when beaten by Sepoy was really strong, and that form should make her hard to beat.
Melbourne Race 9 no.8 SISTER MADLY.
*John Sadler was confident when interviewed by Steve this week, and said Oliver was happy with her in trials.
*She is a mare that can run very fast times, and will get a comfortable run, possibly ‘one out one back’.
*Well bred and can add to her $1 million price tag!
*Will be a decent each way price and should give you a great sight.
Sydney Race 2 no.2 THANKGODYOUREHERE.
*His two run this time in work have been super.
*The third to Secret Admirer and Sincero is about the best form around.
*Can get a smother and just needs luck at the right time to be winning.
*Main dangers are Tom’s Rocket (improver) and Startsmeup (QLD’er who drops 5.5kg back from WFA) but it’s hard to see them beating him with even luck.
They are what I see as some nice interstate chances. The full brissy preview can be found tomorrow afternoon, and we should have a good track for “The Punt” selections. Unlike a lot of sites, the preview is FREE, and is just a simple 1 minute membership sign up (no mailouts). just remember to bet responsibly and have a good time doing it!
