Ipswich Cup- Quick wrap up..

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

I’ve been on a bit of a break for a couple of days so it is a short wrap up again today. I hope people are ok with that.

I again received good feedback from some followers for the four best bets winning. Thanks for tasking the time, it is appreciated. There are always bad weeks, so it’s nice when we can string a few winners together. Unfortunately we were a whisker from adding the quadrella to the winnings, but it wasn’t to be.

Race 1: As expected GREY ASSIGNMENT was heavily backed and got the job done well. He has been very good all prep and deserved his win. BRAVE THE WAY hit the line well and is nearing a win.

Race 2: CALDETES settled alright midfield and was still strong late (god bless him!) We had serious doubts about his fitness and he will improve off that run. Not sure where we go next with him, but he is promising. FANTISHA was extremely good and even though there was pace up front to suit her, she flew late and she has many wins in store over her career.

Race 3: STARTSMEUP was weighted to win and was very impressive. He will continue to be competitive all prep. LIESELE put together another placing as she always seems to find one better. ROCKER ran ok and pulled up lame so I wouldn’t be sacking him.

Race 4: Congratulations to Kirk Matheson on winning this race. He is a good young jock going places. Not much else to take out of this.

Race 5: GAI’S CHOICE has been ultra-professional this time in work and may well head to the Tatts Tiara. I’m not sure if she is up to that grade, but while she  is in this mood why not have a go? MASCARERI ran her heart out with the 59kg, while HIDDEN KISSES was well backed and had no luck what so ever.

Race 6: GINGA DUDE flopped and was costly for a lot of punters! (Myself included). SHENZHOU STEEDS was the only horse with a lot of upside and he looked good in winning. He should head to the Caloundra Cup now where he will be hard to beat.

Race 7: This was a good ride by Munce and BELLTONE looks as though bigger wins may come his way. He was under the pump at the 100m but fought like a really good horse. ADNOCON went very close to winning his 3rd eyeliner and that was another great training effort. DALZAR is the horse we threw in at nearly $101 and he come from last to be beaten 1.8L and running 5th. GUNDY SON’s saddle slipped and is the one to forgive.

Race 8: Larry Cassidy sent DIET to the front and although it looked as if it was a hot pace, the frontrunners were advantaged. He kicked and hung on by a nose beating DIVINE CITY. AMETSIS was huge making more ground than any other runner and she will win very shortly!!
