Lees eyes carnival

Kiss Lees is one of many interstate trainers looking to target our carnival with a few of his better horses and it was interesting to see him nominate Uate and Next The Universe for the weekend at the Gold Coast.

Kris told me that Next The Universe will also accept down south and things will be weighed up with her during the week. She is a maybe for the weekend but Kris is pretty sure we will see her up here at some stage to compete in the mares’ races chasing some more black type after her placing in the Group 3 race two starts ago and feels she is up to winning one.

The very astute trainer also said Uate would most likely stay at home as he does not like the wet tracks and would probably run at Scone as his next start. He felt the horse was ordinary on the wet track at his latest and is simply in need of getting some firm footing. In good news for us Lees is likely to bring him up at some stage and if he gets conditions to suit he is very capable of winning a big race.

**For the Blackbook followers we have three horses running tomorrow:

TRUMP EAGLE FARM R7 No.3 (1600m)- Well suited and will go very close.
JACK’S BACK EAGLE FARM R7 No.9 (1600m)- Hard to roll the fav’s, but is the best at double figures.
MUKADDAMAH SON EAGLE FARM R8 No.2 (1835m)- Will run very well. Unfortunately we have been on at $15 his last two and $3.50 is a bit short tomorrow, but he is the one to beat.
