An interesting nomination this week is LOADED in the 1600m Lord Mayor’s Cup at Group 3 level. He is a talented galloper who does look to be very well placed.
I only had time for a quick chat with Grant Allard but the main query at this stage was involving the travel and availability to get up here.
“There is a chance he will. It all depends on travel, I want him up there tonight if he goes. If he does travel Nash Rawiller will ride. He will be coming up, but if he doesn’t get up tonight there may be another race in a couple of weeks.” Allard said.
As mentioned the horse is a very good miler, his trainer is very astute and with Nash likely to ride if he runs I would be expecting a very good performance. He did run at Scone last week and ran a very handy 3rd (Scone Cup) in a race no harder in my opinion than what he would run into this weekend.
The big positive is last preparation he ran well 2nd up his did at Scone, but 3rd up he travelled to Brisbane and won by 3L. This would be the same scenario and every chance a similar result. A real sense of timing and respect should be shown each time the team travel north.
Good luck to Grant and the team.
