Manikato preview (friday night)

Print Friendly

We will have our usual ‘The Punt’ section up for Saturday, but I thought why not do a MANIKATO night preview and throw some quaddie numbers at you.

Good luck if you have a punt.

MANIKATO on Friday night.

BUFFERING gets his chance to win his Group 1 here. He has been a bit tardy out of the gates on occasion, and I think twice it has been here. That is the only drama for him. If he misses it even half a length the other jockey’s will try to pocket him. Personally I think he will jump with them and most likely dictate from the front as he usually does. He is the best sprinter in Australia at present (with Black Caviar not racing) and I expect him to stand up.

SEA SIREN looks probably the hardest to beat and she can sit outside him in the run. Although she beat Buffering in the Doomben 10,000 he absolutely drove her into the ground in the high pressure Stradbroke. He has done it to plenty of horses and she will have to be tough to roll him at his best.

LONE ROCK will have to get back from the gate but she’s the one who is a chance to run over the top of them if the pace up front gets out of control. I’m also respecting MENTAL even with the bad gate can sprint hard late, also TEMPLE OF BOOM who always puts in but better suited on a bigger track and BEL SPRINTER who simply mixes his form too much for my liking and gets a gate to get the gun run.

MANIKATO selections:

 1-BUFFERING

10-LONE ROCK, 7-SEA SIREN

(QUAD numbers may change after scratchings, so check in before the races kick off)
