After Woorim’s big win on Saturday the hopes of Queenslanders turn to the Newmarket in a fortnight’s time. We will be represented by Woorim, Buffering, Phelan Ready and Facile Tigre. Jason McLachlan has Phelan Ready and Facile Tigre ticking over beautifully and feels Phelan Ready is a chance if some rain was about, but thinks Facile Tigre is a definite chance no matter what conditions are.

I spoke to Jason quickly this morning and as expected he was wrapped with Facile Tigre brave performance in the Group 1 Oakleigh Plate after being three wide without cover and only going down a head. He also pointed out Facile Tigre has terrific record second up which is another thing in his favour. He has also won down the straight at Flemington which is always a great box to be able to tick heading into a Newmarket.

Absolon is another of the stable stars who will re-appear this weekend in Brisbane and all going to plan Jason would like to make the Winter carnival with the up and comer.

*In other racing news Mick price is looking at giving Samaready one run in Sydney leading into the Golden Slipper, with the Group 2 Riesling slipper trial being the obvious race.

*It looks as though Jimando who ran a game fourth in the Diamond has had his slipper plans changed and should miss the race now.

*It also seems that John Singleton is keen to try More Joyous out to 2000m again this preparation to see if she should be aimed at another Cox Plate.
