Midweek preview

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Time for a bit of a look at the midweek preview. It will be short but sweet today.

The Rail is out 11m from the 1000-900m, and 9m the remainder. Track should be Good 3.

 **UPDATED 9.05am**

Race 1: Nothing here.

Race 2: Another race I will be leaving. URBANE was good behind Athanea last start and BOOMALICOUS trialled really well.

Race 3: Patinack dominate this with INTERVIEW, ONETIMEATBANDCAMP and MAGIC TARTAN in the acceptances. ONETIMEATBANDCAMP has superior form to these and would be winning but I’m not sure they will run him. Surely they keep him for a better race as one of their others can win this. If he’s out I’d just lean MAGIC TARTAN’s way as she has been going pretty good in some good quality races. She will spot INTERVIEW a little start and it could be hard to catch with the rail out, but I think class should get the mare home.

**INTERVIEW and MAGIC TARTAN scratched so ONETIMEATBANDCAMP now extremely short.

Race 4: Not interested.

Race 5: TRANSPORTER has lengths on these if he holds his form from the rest of his campaign. I’d again be surprised if they run him here for the measly $8000 midweek? Surely he finds a better race of a Saturday. If he’s out (2) TRIPLE ELITE and (3) TRIUMPHET ONE can run well but wouldn’t be getting too involved again.

Race 6: A few chances engaged but happy to lean the way on SAN JOSE. Don’t like backing horses with poor win records like this bloke, but Heathcote seems to have improved the horse and this looks a winnable race for him. He can be up on speed and Wiggins takes the ride.

On Top: 8- SAN JOSE

Race 7: Probably the best setting race of the day and I think JUST BETTY is worth a gamble. She usually races on pace but went to town in a leader dominated class6 and raced off the pace to be beaten 3L by Flinders Command and Hidden Kisses. Back to a class3 with 54.5kg after the claim and I will be getting involved. She is $3.50 on Tatts at the moment,I thought we may have got a touch better but that’s ok.

SHEEZ KEEN is a blackbooker and will come in for plenty of support. Her big query will be if the track allows for horses to swoop with the rail out so far? If so she can win, but you’d have to watch the rest of the races to get a guide. The 6 + 7 best of the rest.

**Again I don’t like the 1st leg of the quaddie and it doesn’t look a great day to go wide, so here is my skinny TREBLE.

Brisbane TREBLE:

1 —— 1,4,7,8 —— 2

***Selections will be updated around 9:15am Wednesday if needed after scratchings**
