Plenty of news around the traps.
*Unfortunately we have to start with the worst news in a long time. Simone Montgomerie has been killed in a race fall Darwin Cup day. The 26 year old mother will be sorely missed and the whole racing community sends love to her family.
— Brissyraces supports Pillars Of Strength as our Charity of choice http://www.pillarsofstrength.com.au/concrete/ but on this occasion we throw our support around the National Jockey’s Trust who do a great job. http://www.njt.org.au/
I never actually ask people to donate as money is tough for all, but if you do like a punt and happen to have a nice win in the coming weeks you may be able to sling a lazy $10 or $20 across to help either of these great causes, one may really strike a note with you and any help to either is always a appreciated. Thanks guys/girls.
*In other news Brisbane have had a big set of trials this morning. I will be watching the replays this arfternoon but the reports are SOMEDAY and SIZZLING were pretty good. SOMEDAY won his 820m heat in 50:27 beating WHISKEY ALLROUND by 1.5L. SIZZLING won his heat in 49:95.
Interestingly a couple of Maiden heat winners ran decent time in the last couple of trials too- INTO THE RED for Kelso, and SAN CLEMENTE for Heathcote.
*NECHITA is set to debut for Aiden O’brien in the U.K, it may be as soon as Friday in a listed race.
*RAIN AFFAIR is on target to capture the Group 3 Missile stakes (1200m) on the weekend. His biggest threat may come from injury prone HAY LIST who is nominated.
*More still to come this week including BLACKBOOK runners. The one in tomorrow is in Melbourne:
Tooleybuc Kid – Sandown Hillside R8 No.11 (1800m):
**TATTS JACKPOTS Wednesday:
TattsBet customers are in for a midweek treat! There’s carryovers galore tomorrow with all races at Doomben and Balaklava carrying a $5,000 First4 jackpot.
**To finish off here are a couple of pictures of Typhoon Tracy’s young bloke in the paddock at Vinery with David White.
