Race 1:

This is actually a very good 2 year old race over 1350m.

HOOKED looked outstanding on debut  and only goes up 0.5kg here. Looks to have a very bright future.

HYDRAZINE won easy at the Gold Coast on a Heavy track so it is a little hard to get a guide on that run but it also looks a good horse. VO HEART is in the same boat coming off a Heavy track victory.Matt Dunn Racing

Our Blackbooker YOU DID WHAT jumps from 1000m but the run behind Octane Flyer was terrific and must be respected.

SPLENDORA for Matty Dunn is an above avg filly and the 1350m is what she has been looking for. She could be the knockout at $17.

*Real good race, just thinking SPLENDORA and YOU DID WHAT may be the value.

On Top:  13- SPLENDORA  @ $17

Others:  5- YOU DID WHAT,  4- VO HEART,   1-HOOKED,   2-FLYING RIDDLE

Race 2:

Bit of a trick race. DOLLY DOLLY was super in the Group race in SYD but drops 300m here? I don’t think that is a major concern and I’m more than happy to be on around the $6 mark. I’d rather it be a bigger track but class is a great thing and this is a big drop in grade! Biggest question may be the 57kg as she is not big at all.

BLACK CASH is in super form and will be very competitive. I do however think excels on the wet tracks he has been on and may start under the odds here.

EPIC is in career best form but I’d love to know what they do from the bad gate from the tricky starting point, surely they have to go right back??

ALCANCIA, TAX EVADER and VITAL ORGAN best of the rest.

*Staying with the class at nice odds.

On Top:  5- DOLLY DOLLY

Race 3:

VOLKHERE got the cash for us last week and is going super but jumps in weight and may not be as well suited here with the firmer track. He can win but may be ‘unders’.

DAZZLE US consistent since getting to the staying trips.

MUKKADAMAH SON gets Browne back on which is the key to him.

ROWIE is accepted  in SYD too so have to wait and see what he does but if he runs here he will obviously be the one to beat after running in far better races in Sydney. (UPDATE- he is running here)

MARGINS a horse I have always liked and 2100m suits, respect.

*Not a race im keen to get involved with.

On Top: 8-ROWIE

Race 4:

Even with the big field I don’t see a lot of pace here. PELLEGRINNI was really suited last start and they should push forward and lead again here. Heathcote may well have found the key to the ex-NZ horse as the last win was good.

Leaning to VIKING HEART $6 who ran 3rd to Pellegrinni beaten 3.3L on that occasion. VIKING HEART meets it and PRODUCT 2kg better off and he should get a better run in transit and be stalking the leaders, and should be better value.

PRODUCT, GUNNER KNOX , THE RINGMASTER, DALZAR and TRAGEDY all worth thoughts for exotics.

On Top: 10- VIKING HEART e/w

Race 5:

Tough start to the quadrella. A lot of horses here not in great form and all the rest are first up….

DELAGO BOLT has to lump 58.5kg and beat the awkward gate from this tricky starting point which is a concern but he did race well last prep.

What to make of ROCKER? He has had a frustrating start to his prep with lots going wrong. Decent gate with Colless on top. If he is ready to rumble he may well be the one to beat. He is 3 from 3 fresh and 3 wins from 4 starts at Doomben.

I’M COOL has had a freshen up, gets a cheap run from the inside gate. 1000m is very suitable and is very well weighted with just 53.5kg after the claim for Matheson.

SOLEBID $13 is a good fresh horse who will be strong late.

LIESELE was terribly out of form before thefreshen up and probably deserves one more go but the market will be a good guide.

*Nothing would surprise here, not overly confident.

On Top: 10- I’M COOL

Hardest To Beat:  7- ROCKER

Race 6:

3 year old set weights. PROVERB has been racing in similar or better races and being beaten 5L by horses like Pierro, Phillipi and Toydini. That’s more than good enough to be competitive here under these conditions.

ITS ON THE POCKET got us the money at $17 a few starts ago and hasn’t been beaten since. Looking for 5 straight wins and although this is harder he is hard to put a knock on.

MISHANI STEALTH hasn’t missed a place in 9 starts and this is about the right trip for him. 1200m-1600m probably not perfect but he will run his usual honest race for exotics.

No idea what to make of TRAKSTAR. There is a chance he is just a pure dry track horse? I will ask Gollan next time we talk but he may be worth another go on top of the ground in quaddies.

I don’t see a stack of pace and that gives CARMORA another great chance to set the pace and the 1600m is up his ally too.  Yet to strike a dry track so there is the question that the wet tracks may flatter?

SIR KNOX is ‘The Prophet’s’ selection and I think he is also an underrated horse. The set weights races are probably not the best suited to him but he can sit behind the pace and the key is to get some clear racing room for him which hasn’t eventuated nearly all prep.

On Top: 12- SIR KNOX

Hardest To Beat: 5- CARMORA, 2- ITS ON THE POCKET, 1- PROVERB

Race 7:

BUFFERING will start too short for me to back in this race 1st up but he does look the winner. He is the best horse in the race and can pretty much set his own tempo here.

READY TO RIP in great form but would love the ‘cut’ out of the track, as would TEMPLE OF BOOM.

SPIRIT OF BOOM just hasn’t had things go his way after a great run in the Oakleigh plate. Colless goes on and expect improvement.

*Not betting but keen to watch.

On Top: 1- BUFFERING

Race 8:

DREAM’N’IGNITE will be well backed here I suspect. She was terrific fresh last time and may be able to run time and be hard to catch again. She is the horse to beat but I don’t think she’s a ‘good thing’.

TIME TO PLUNDER(SCR) will want the speed on as the tricky gate means he will have to spot the leaders some start. His last two have been very good and he will again be in the finish.

HIDDEN KISSES is the class horse resuming and has trialled well. Gets a cheap run from the gate and is another who would like a bit of pace in the middle stages.

I have a big wrap on QUARTERLY, this is only his 4th run and a tough assignment but he has a lot of upside! The gate is no hope and he will have to hope for some cover, but if that eventuates he will fly late.

CUDDLESOME a nice mare resuming $9 and SHOW AFFECTION $8 can both be given some thoughts.

*If she gets a cheap lead DREAM’N’IGNITE should have them covered but if the pace is on there are a stack of chances.

On Top: 9-DREAM’N’IGNITE

Hardest To Beat:  5- HIDDEN KISSES, 11- QUARTERLY
