RAIL-  +5m

GOOD trackblackbook

BLACKBOOK RUNNERS:

Midnight Shimmer – Belmont R1 No.2 (1400m): Great chance
Cuddlesome – Doomben R4 No.4 (1350m): Should be winning
Epic Terra – Doomben R6 No.1 (1350m): Will improve here
Mishani Warrior – Doomben R6 No.3 (1350m): Nice e/w value
Regular – Doomben R6 No.12 (1350m): Hard to beat
Deb’s Hope – Doomben R8 No.9 (1200m): Like the $12

Race 1:

FERMENT will be supported and GREY ASSIGNMENT could improve but I’m more than happy to stay out of this race and bet later in the day.

Race 2:

Again I won’t be betting here.

SECRET HARMONY looks the one dropping 3kg from his last run and deserves to start fav. GRAWLIX and TORNADO MISS are the ones on the way up, while TREASURE MAP and ALWAYS A GIBBERER were ok behind the fav last start.

On Top:  1- SECRET HARMONY

Wider:  6- TORNADO MISS,  5- GRAWLIX

Race 3:

This horse’s record when Browne is aboard is extremely good. MUKADDAMAH SON is simply lengths better with the top jock on. In saying that this race won’t have much pace on and tactics will be crucial.

ESCOFFIER and RAEBURN are the two obvious dangers with ESCOFFIER leading.

*Another ordinary affair! Beware..

On Top:  1- MUKADDAMAH SON

Others:  3- RAEBURN, 7-ESCOFFIER

Race 4:

I’ve tried to find reasons why CUDDLESOME can’t win but am convinced she is the one again. Munce is in super form and with a bit of pace engaged will surely just box seat or sit one off the fence in 4th. Although it is a month between runs the cushy run gives her every chance.

Lees brings PROJECT COMPASSION (SCRATCHED)to town and has Browne steering. Must be respected.

JACQUETTA the best of the rest.

On Top:  4- CUDDLESOME

Race 5:  Kick off for the $94k Jackpot quad www.tatts.com

I could be completely wrong but this may not be as clear cut as it looks. This starting point is very tricky and SPOT THE ROCK (SCR)is going to have to be on his game to get the right run, you don’t want to be caught wide here. I am sure he is the horse to beat and he goes in my quad but a few too many questions for me to back outright.

D’JET gets the right run on the fence 3rd-5th depending on pace and gets 56kg after the claim. Good 2nd up record makes him hard to beat and I have ended up with him on top for that reason.

I am doing something I very rarely do but giving SHAZZLE PAZZLE who jumps from class 2-3 races to the city class 6 and hasn’t won in last 8 runs a big chance here. This prep with Ross though she ran on two heavy tracks and then was very unlucky in the latest when on top of the ground. 50.5kg here, gate 4 and she should run well.

1110m probably as far as TOM’S LUCK wants but has the good gate and TRILIONE comes off a win for a red hot stable.

On Top:  1- D’JET

Hardest To Beat:  12- SHAZZLE PAZZLE

Race 6:

1,2,3,5,6,11,12 all push forward to some degree. In my mind this has to be at least a good tempo and MISHANI WARRIOR who has done the job for us at a nice price a couple of times so why question him here? He should be able to sweep late and run some type of race at $8 again!

Plenty of other chances though. KEEP IT MOIST tactics were simply wrong last start and only has to overcome the 59kg to go close.

EPIC TERRA had no luck 1st up and will take sharp improvement here.

KNOCKABOUT (Munce) and REGULAR get good runs just behind the speed and shouldn’t have to spend a penny in the running.

VOLKHERE has trialled well and hasn’t missed a place 1st up previously. He is the other one who would enjoy the pace up front.

On Top:  3- MISHANI WARRIOR e/w @ $10

Hardest To Beat: 1,2,8,11,12 all legitimate chances.

Race 7:

A heap of different formlines and possibly wide in the quad.

MR TESTA and JACKS BACK may come out of the best race, which was very similar to this.. Both have nice gates and will roll forward so have to be around the money.

GOT UNDERS has in-form Colless and form around Kurtley (who would give these a lesson).

HEART OF MANY is promising to win one of these and last run is forgivable without much luck. Gets a lovely run from gate 5 and probably has more scope for improvement than many of these.

MY QUILTER ran 2nd to Caballo Rapido who franked the form through the week with a dominant display.

**Very tough affair, the positive is the market is around $5 the field. Just leaning $7.50 about the My Quilter formlines.

On Top:  3- MY QUILTER  $7.50

Others: 10- GOT UNDERS,  13- HEART OF MANY, 1- JACKS BACK, 2- MR TESTA

Race 8:

These races late in the day on a good track with the rail out nearly always play to the frontrunners.. How is it playing at present?

The problem for me is other than a bias track I can’t make a case for many of the leaders!

I’m still not convinced THE STOREMAN gets 1200m, and it was a mad leaders track the other day when he went close to winning. On the other hand, does this track play the same and give him another chance??

MANICERO is a 1600m horse and won easily 1st up but stays at the 1200m?

THEFIFTHHOLE- I’ve run out of time for him but frontrunners track suits?

So let’s look at the midfield/back runners that can hopefully swoop.

DEB’S HOPE was a huge run on that track where it was hard to make ground. He was super late and hopefully they don’t have to get as far back. At $12 on Tatts I think that’s a nice e/w bet.

CONGO is very classy on his day and I think Munce may go forward on SEZWHO (SCR) and be a rough chance here.

On Top:  9- DEBS HOPE  $12
