Absolutely perfect weather for racing. Good track at Eagle Farm, rail true and no excuses not to continue on from a successful weekend last weekend. It was amazing to see Mishani Warrior salute for the third time in a row at $8..

Race 1:

I’m assuming Gollan scratched from the bad gate last week with SPOT THE ROCK and he’s come up with the 1 marble here.Really does look to have a class edge and should be good enough to win.

Very few chances behind, but ALL THAT is a speed machine who should be able to cross and lead while ROCKET TO GLORY may sit outside him. They can run well. BUCKMOORE and MEMEORABLE MOMENT can be given thoughts for first 4’s etc.

On Top: 2- SPOT THE ROCK

Race 2:

Not a fan of this race.

1200m and good track suit BRIBIE and at the $6 he represents some value on his talent but I’d rather it be at Doomben. JUNGLE HEAT, is he as good 2nd up?

BALKUIN fresh can run well? PURE PURRFECTION and ALDINI ready to win??

**Not overly confident but putting the grey on top.

On Top:  4- BRIBIE  $6

Piney meals

Race 3:

Another really even race. ELLAWISDOM’s win was awesome last start but I just wonder if there will be enough pace engaged for her here? If she runs up to the last effort she will be hard to toss.

HOLLYWOOD BOUND and SIR KNOX come out of the same race and a whisker split them on that occasion. Hard to split again here but leaning to SIR KNOX with Munce having the extra ride on him now.

EQUISSENTIAL more than ready to show his best. Great dry track record and loves this track/trip

(7-2-2-0)

WISHMORE also going well and the stable is on fire.

On Top: 8- SIR KNOX

Hardest To Beat:  1- EQUISSENTIAL, 5- ELLAWISDOM, 7- HOLLYWOOD BOUND

Race 4:

Who knows what happens here. CLONMACNOISE and ESCOFFIER go forward and are leading chances. Those two along with AWESOME RANSOM who was terrific behing Flying Home last start should start the fav’s and be the horses to beat.

I’m just not keen on these races and am looking outside the square a little. MALING meets AWESOME RANSOM 3kg better off at the weights here. FIFTH COLUMN was also good in that race, while SPECIAL MISS $11 is the horse on the way up and McMahon takes the ride. She may want the run at 2200m to show her best next time, but I am putting her on top as we are still finding out how good she is while we know all these others levels.

On Top: 9- SPECIAL MISS  (SCR)

Others: 1,2,3,8

Matt Dunn Racing

Race 5:

GOTTA BE LUCKY and GOTITALLWRONG are my clear top 2 here and I expect them to get good runs in transit and be very hard to roll. I couldn’t argue with people who say GOTTA BE LUCKY has to win off the enormous effort when attacking the line late last week, however she always needs luck in running and may spot GOTITALLWRONG a length or two on straightening here. GOTITALLWRONG should be cherry ripe for this and the big track suits. Happy to back both a win at $6.50.

Matt Dunn is another trainer back in some form and looking for a change of luck here when TICKET TO DREAM looks to back up a nice run behind the smart DIVINE CITY. Nothing against Goold claiming 3kg, but Colless is in great form and is a loss.

FLYING FUJI, DANE PRINCESS, ELLYTHEA and ELSALINDA all worth thought for those going wide in Quadrellas.

*Hard to split the (‘GOT’s)

On Top:  8- GOTITALLWRONG  $6.50

Hardest To Beat:  7- GOTTA BE LUCKY

Race 6:

Well I can’t go past TERONADO. I think he is an extremely exciting horse. In fact I think he is potentially one of QLD’s best so I can’t go against him. Trainer Bruce Hill waxed lyrical after the incredible win last start, so who beats him?? $3.50 looks great to me for a horse who wants to head to a Caulfield Guineas…. If he is going there he’d want to beat these. The drop in trip doesn’t concern me with some pace on in this grade.

EXCEEDINGLY and FASTNET COVE come off good maiden wins and can run ok. Can they beat TERONADO is the question? They may push forward which would help. Same goes for PRUSSIAN HEART, REAL ROCKER and CANNYZING who are nice horses but have a task ahead. OLYMPIC ANTHEM won in town on debut which is a great sign and MISS SUNSET showed potential first prep. You’re either with me on TERONADO or very wide I’m guessing.

On Top:  1- TERONADO  $3.50

Race 7:

Quaddie looks to get harder here. VINTAGE MOSS was a ‘moral’ last start when he got the job done for us in easier grade but we are being asked to take the same price in a much tougher grade. He can win but I can’t have him on top at that price. LISTEN SON, EASY RUNNING and THE SIXTIES all push forward which puts the question where does VINTAGE MOSS land? LISTEN SON can really stick it to them here on a dry track and run well.

I think there will be good pace generated here and horses like STARTSMEUP $6 and METALLURGICAL $21 can run on well. STARTSMEUP had had a prep with the Meaghers now and they may know the key to him with the gear change. FUNTANTES and SALUTER (SCR)are the two that get the gun runs.

*Make of that what you will… Personally I will be throwing a few in the quad and not many bets in this.

On Top Value: 1- STARTSMEUP

Roughie: 10- METALLURGICAL

Race 8:

4-5 chances in my mind. Original thought was TAIL AND ALL but just might want to see him one time. Don’t get me wrong he has a bit more class than most of these and can trouble them with some luck in running.

I’m banking on SOUTHERLY (SCRATCHED NOW)$11 getting a bit of luck early and hopefully sitting in the first 4-5 with some cover… Wishful thinking? Maybe but I think there should be enough pace to break them up and give him some hope to slot in. At that price he represents value when the two that beat him are much shorter in a harder race earlier in the day.

MANICERO had the flashing light on last week and 1400m is his go. He will be hard to toss, while DEB’S HOPE (SCRATCHED) looked plain but 1400m is also a plus and he is some hope at a decent price.

UNO FIVE will enjoy the 1400m and it is a great lead that Thompsen is making the trip to ride here. Respect on that fact alone.

**SOUTHERLY was top pick, open now after scratching

Others: 3- TAIL AND ALL, 4- MANICERO,  14- UNO FIVE
