Race 1:

THE STOREMAN looks incredibly well placed here. Yes I’d rather him at Doomben but back to 1000m from a good gate he can lead them a merry dance here. All chances were lost in the Weetwood after missing the start but thought El’Issa put in a very impatient ride from there on in, pushed the horse, sat wide and took off before the corner going extremely wide while others come through on the inside. Forget he went around and he is the horse they have to beat.

North Qld horse OUR BOY MALACHI clearly needs to be respected with the picket fence form line. Nothing but 1’s in sight!

BAHSA and GDAYOLD MATE the next in my mind but any could fall into trifecta’s and first 4’s

On Top:  1- THE STOREMAN

Hardest To Beat:  4- OUR BOY MALACHI

Race 2:

What a missed opportunity for interstate trainers! $51k to the winner and it’s the same old bunch that go around each fortnight??

Not getting involved. RAEBURN nearly got me interested but just can’t come into these races.

Race 3:

Great little race!

Have to respect FURBISH who went from a place chance on the corner to a huge winner eased down. The time was pretty good and the step up in trip looks ideal. Should get a nice run midfield and will be something to beat!

OUR ROCK ORIELLY and DUECED were both good placing in city races last time out and should both run well.

Same goes for SOVERIGN SON who won last start, just a slight query on the form from that race but all you can do is win I guess.

Some value here may be VERBIER. Bred ok, had a bit of support on debut. Plenty of time off and returns a gelding. If he is silly odds then could be worth a saving bet at least.

OUR MATE MUZ is also more than handy for wide first 4’s.

On Top:  2- FURBISH

Value:  12- VERBIER

Race 4:

Speedmaps can very difficult at times but I am confident this is going to be run at a good clip. Three of the main chances in CONGO, JUST A PERLA and ELUSIVE STORM are going to want the front.

Gee I was impressed with ELUSIVE STORM last start, she was really good and wanted to be on her again next start. This however is a big task for Sam Payne, gate 16 in a good field he will have to give her a 10/10. If she gets in she can win.

CONGO up to these on his day but is best when running along in front, can do that here but will need to be at his best to hold them off.

JUST A PERLA is airborne, not sure if they will let the others cross or push hard to lead again? Assuming they push hard.

So where does that leave us?

I’m keen to have something on MANICERO who looks the value in the race. Liked the way he finished off last time and loves the open spaces of  EF. Thinking they will spread out enough for him to get a run one off the fence with cover midfield and can rattle late. He will do me.

ARADO and NOISY OCEAN the others who can finish hard here.

Value:  12- MANICERO

Race 5:

Another really good betting race.

Although 57.5kg not ideal it is probably fair for ELMANTOSH. Has a good 2nd up record and I was taken with the fresh effort where he ran through the line really well. Should represent value and will be the one putting in big strides late.

This starting point is ideal for CARMORA, from the 1600m start it can work its way over from gate 9 and get into a nice spot. Gets in with 54.5kg and the last run was a complete forgive. Will give this a hell of a shake.

EIGHTS A PARTY may need one more run but can run well here.

More chances but sticking with the above. Feel that CARMORA may just have the advamtage of being in front of the other two and for that reason just think it may be the e/w go.

On Top:    11- CARMORA    +    5- ELMANTOSH

Next Best:  12- EIGHT’S A PARTYMaluaRacing...

Race 6:

Far from confident here..

HOPFGARTEN has a task from the outside gate and assuming he gets way out his ground from there. In saying that I love the way Heathcote has gone about it with him, it has been a Hawkes type preparation placing him perfectly in easier grade and giving him 3 ‘kills’. Will need a good one from Browne but this is an ideal target.

How can you knock RUDY? Proved he can do it on top of the ground last start and gets a gate where he can sit closer over the 1600m.He was impressive and it is hard to see SHIRAZ ATTACK being able to turn the tables at first glance. She was however first up at 1350m and has been trained up to get further this time in. She should take improvement from that run and she could be a sharp improver here.

DARCI MAGIC brings good southern form up here and looks to be one on the way up. Seems to improve each run which is a great sign leading into a race like this.

Many other chances but think BODEGA NEGRA may be worth some thought. Didn’t see daylight at any stage the other week and forget he went around.

*Very open

On Top:  4- HOPFGARTEN

Race 7:

SNITZERLAND has had a mixed prep but gets every chance to lead and should be the one to beat. She is very classy on her day and the good track should suit her here.

SPIRIT OF BOOM has to be the other main chance. Comes off a G1 victory and probably in career best form. No doubt in my mind 1200m around EF is probably his best trip in QLD and the small field should also be in his favour.

No doubt FAMOUS SEAMUS will improve lengths on top of the ground and old RIVER LAD is simply underrated everytime he steps out.

Keen to see what SOLZHENITSYN can produce 1st up?

*Really neat little race*

On Top:  1- SPIRIT OF BOOM

Hardest To Beat:   7- SNITZERLAND

Race 8:

Will be interesting to see if any of these scratch. WHO WILL and ZIPPITY LASS from good gates will push forward while FINAL CRESCENDO, THE WHITE HOPE and COMMANDARE work really hard from wide gates. They can all be competitive but will need some luck to get the right spot without working.

I think THE WHITE HOPE may have been a bit overhyped by punters (including myself) a while back but know feel we have wiped him for no reason. He did have issues with his feet and I would be backing his trainer to have him spot on this prep. He is the one who could run them into the ground and it wouldn’t surprise. As mentioned that will be hard in this with so many leaders though.

Although he has got back in races of late Browne should get TIME TO PLUNDER out of the gates and is the horse who can settle midfield, not spend a penny and run over the leaders late. At around $10 in early markets he does look good value and dropping in grade with the good gate and Browne could be worth a bet.

EMERALD DUKE was too bad to be true and can’t be written off just yet.

FINAL CRESCENDO and REGULAR up to these but need luck from the gates.

UPDATE:: After a heap of scratchings this race has really changed.. Still sticking with Time To Plunder though.
