Our Zidane on track for city win

Hard working Gold Coast trainer Toby Edmonds and his team are going very well of late and always worthwhile to have a chat with.

Toby pointed out the team always runs well it’s just a matter of having the right horses in the stable- Good point.

One of the eye-catching runs at Doomben Saturday was OUR ZIDANE who got back to last and rattled late to finish 2nd in the 3 year old mile race. “He goes to the 3 yr old – 2000m race in a fortnights time at Eagle Farm and that is the race we earmarked for him for some time, he was one of the only ones finishing off which looks good.” Edmonds said. Edmonds Racing

He also added there is more to come.” He is there physically, still not there mentally. Ive had a couple of Zizou’s now and learnt a bit about them, they don’t cop a lot of work and they all seem to need a bit of time.”

The stable had a winner at the coast Saturday in DOLPHUS who had been racing well and finished of well in a nice race a couple of weeks ago. “She led, she is not usually a leader, she had a big weight and did a good job.”

An up and comer who will go places is SIEGFRIED who has had just the two starts with a 2nd on debut and a dominant win at his second start. On that occasion he beat Thomas The Tank easily and that horse has since won which is always a good sign. “He is a progressive horse, he is probably a preparation away from finding his level but he is above average and usually beats whatever he works with.” Edmonds said.

There are a couple of two year olds coming along nice Toby will find a race for soon and you can be sure there will be more in in store for us over the Christmas period.
