Some news around the traps:
**I tried to grab a couple of red hot trainers at the moment in Brad Herne and David Kelly but had no luck today. Both are going very well and I am keen to hear how a couple of runners are coming along for future assignments.
*Interesting to see Anthony Allen has been charged for slowing a race too quickly at Doomben aboard PURE WHISPER. From what I could see I didn’t think there was much in it at all and he would be stiff to get done! Yes he let Colless steal the win and the ride wasn’t great but there was a race at Beaudesert the other day where I reckon there was a case for someone to get done for slowing the race and nothing came of it and it was worse than Allen’s…
*FIGHTING SUN looked to be a genuine Slipper contender if not fav and very sad to hear the Autumn is out of the question after pulling up sore from a dominant win Saturday.
*Some talk BOOMWA may back-up in the Blue Diamond stakes. We will have to wait and see.
*I thought the run of TERONADO was outstanding in Melbourne on Saturday. 1600m around Flemington will be the perfect scenario and although Newitt rode the horse well, I would love to see blinkers on and Chris Munce aboard for his grand final. The trainer would know the horse best so the gear change may not be needed but Munce would be a must for me.
*It will be interesting to see the make up of the Blue Diamond field. It will obviously be extremely hard to beat the favs but there is one I am keen to have something on at probably 100/1 if it gets a run so stay tuned.
