In some racing news this week the weights for the Melbourne Cup have been released with DUNADEN and AMERICAIN both being allotted with 58kg. This is a big task but not impossible for a couple of top shelf European stayers who have proved themselves under our conditions. MANIGHAR 57kg, GREEN MOON 53.5kg, MALUCKYDAY 53.5kg and MOURAYAN 53.5kg are some of the other main chances weights.
*The Newcastle Cup 2300m is on Thursday and it looks a pretty decent field again this year. GLENCADAM GOLD carries topweight and is looking for a hat-trick of wins. He has great credentials for a race like this and I personally find it hard to see him being beaten. He comes off a 1.8L win in the Listed Premier’s Cup where he beat Permit and Stout Hearted.
