Ready To Rip having last run this prep

I was looking at giving Andrew Williamson a call regarding Ready To Rip this week, but Steve Hewlett saved me a call as he caught up with Andrew on the RadioTab morning show.

In their discussion Williamson said that Craig Williams who rode the horse Magic Millions day recommended that they forget the horse went around as the track was too hard for Ready To Rip and that it simply would not fully stretch out on that ground. The horse has been known to feel the hard tracks in the past and Andrew did say the horse was a bit ‘jarry’ after the race, but is in great condition now.

He will have one more start this preparation and that will be at the Sunshine Coast this coming Sunday. I am sure the track will suit on the weekend and I’d suggest that it will be a while before we see Ready To Rip run on any good 3 surfaces again. I have always had a big opinion of the horse, and I still do. He will win his fair share of good quality races before he is finished. You wouldn’t wish his barrier draws on your worst enemy! He has had no luck what so ever when it comes to drawing a gate, and he was a moral beaten the day My Destiny kept him in a pocket, but that’s racing and we may see the best of him on Sunday.

Steve also interviewed Nikki Burke who trains out of Cranbourne about her up and comer Unpretentious. The horse was outstanding first up and is in our ‘Brissyraces Blackbook’. Apparently the horse had a $1,000,000 offer on the table, but failed the vet’s test. Nikki said the horse has had a heap of issues and she takes special care because of those problems, but he is flying at the moment and is well worth following in the coming weeks.

*For those in QLD, Northern Territory and South Australia the ‘Raceday’ program  airs on Radiotab from 8am (qld) with Steve Hewlett and Tony Clements interviewing guests until 9am, and then fitting in interviews where possible until lunch time.
