Ready To Rip heading south

Andrew Williamson is a great young trainer on the Sunshine coast and at this part of his career is best known for his success Ready To Rip.

As most would know he is one of my favourite horses and has a great record on the track. He is one of the unluckiest horses in QLD when it comes to drawing a gate, but he also feels the hard tracks and needs a dead track at best to really let down and show what he’s got. Unfortunately there were very few cases where the horse drew a gate and when the track had plenty of juice in it for him to show his best. We may never get to see the best of him as Andrew told me that he will be heading down to Melbourne to be based at the Moody stables for the winter.

It would be very hard to say goodbye to the stable star but Andrew thought it was a good idea and I think had a fair input into it. He said the owners had been terrific to him and that Ready To Rip would not only appreciate some wet tracks down there, but feels the horse will appreciate racing on his Melbourne leg. It speaks volumes about what type of bloke Williamson is and shows that trainers really do want what’s best for the animals. (not what some lobbying groups want you to think)

The stable is still ticking along well and Andrew is happy with a few youngsters coming through. He did make special mention of Fallforme who is by Glenlogan Parks Bradbury’s Luck. It won a recent trial at Doomben and he feels that it is a city class horse and can pick up a few races in town over time.

Good luck to Andrew with a few of the youngsters coming through!
