Rodd on his way back

Micheal Rodd has been given all clear to return to riding after 2 months off dealing with an ear infection that developed into a much more serious condition. To fully recover, and more importantly look after his long-term health, Micheal was advised to give his well worn body a decent rest, eating and exercising normally and away from the constant physical and mental demands of race riding.  The years of wasting take the toll on the body,  affecting the ability to fight illness and allowing the organs to function normally.

The last Saturday ride Micheal had was winning the G3 Rough Habit Plate on Criminal Defence on 15th May, and that was the day his body told him enough was enough. After many visits to doctors and specialists, and 8 weeks of treating his body like it was designed, Micheal feels now fitter and stronger, both physically and mentally than ever. He even spent some time at a health retreat focusing on nutrition, exercise and relaxation. With the all-clear now, Micheal will be back at trackwork next week and race-riding shortly after that when his weight is right.

“I feel super, you realise how important your health is to you and your family when it’s put at risk. Thanks to everyone who has wished me well during this difficult time, all I want to do now is get back riding  well and riding winners.
