What about this rain!! Frustrating doing incredible amounts of form only to be washed out.

Also frustrating is the fact most of the horses I have on top this week have come up shorter than expected and not sure any will start backable odds or not. Liked IMPASSE but $2.70 means I probably don’t bet. Looked interstate to try and find a couple of bets for everyone.

Eagle Farm: Race 2 No.4-OUR MANTRA $5/$2

*Have made him my main bet for the day.

At the price above he’s a bet for me. Thought he was grossly under the odds last start, he still ran quite well although well beaten. He loomed in the straight but condition gave way late. Fradd needs to find cover early here, if that’s the case he looks well placed and this looks a nice drop in grade. Little query is to this trip 3rd up but did win this track 1800m third run back last prep.

EF: Roughie: Race 4 No.5- GO DEEP $17/$4.20

Obviously hard to beat the top few in the market and not sure why we haven’t seen him since his trial on xmas eve. That trial was good and liked the way he improved through last prep. Looks one that could improve sharply again this prep and at the big odds I could have a little speck bet.

Brisbane Race 6 no.12 SLOW HANDS $4.60

Can’t believe I’m tipping this horse. I’d rather a soft track, just feel he’s going as good as ever. Rider should have waited 50-100m longer last start. Gets a great run and a patient ride means he can win.

Fleminton Race 1 No.8-MOUNT TABORA $4.80

Pace might be an issue here so happy to have McEvoy on, he can sum it up quickly. Each run this prep has been very good and 1600m on the big track is ideal. Sure to be strong through the line and in the right stable to keep improving.

Flemington Race 4 No.8- SKELM $6.50/$2.30

Different horse since the blinkers went on. Can race midfield if needed but the gate might make this a bit sticky. Allen on top puts the mind at ease a little. Has savaged the line each run since the blinkers have gone on. Expecting the same here and only has to hold the recent form to be in the thick of it.

Sydney Race 7 No.4- LIBERTINI $2.10

Don’t want to take odds on but I feel she is an outstanding filly and I love her fresh. Just needs even luck and she is the horse they all have to beat.

Sydney Race 9 No.4- FIESTA ew $8.50/$2.60

Was holding off to see if we got a drying track and we have. She is a good fresh horse, she draws a gate to sit midfield with cover. Avdulla can nurse as long as he likes and gives her last shot at the leaders.
