Saturday Wrap Up

Print Friendly

I thought with us really getting back to focusing on Brisbane again it would be worth doing a bit of a wrap up and just going over a few good performances. (The Blackbook will be up later in the week)

We did see a dominant win by CHOOSE A SAGA in the two year old race. The time was pretty ordinary (track was upgraded later in the day)and the field didn’t look flash at all so I’d like to see the horse do it again before I take the short odds he may pop up at next run. All you can do is win, and he did it well.

HI SON was the disappointment with HEZA JETSETTER and ALLKNIGHT SAINT dominating that race. I think Brad Herne has found the key to ALLKNIGHT SAINT and connections are going to have fun with him over the next couple of preps. HEZA JETSETTER will be freshened up and go to the 3yr old Millions race. He has the class to win there but there is no doubt he is better on the open track at EF where he can balance up.

Heathcote backed it up with one of our specials SONS OF GOD dominating the 1400m race. He sat on pace and kicked like a good horse. He has been up for a long time but looks to be thriving and can go on with it now he has broken through again!

Another at nice odds that we had on top was CALIENTE and hopefully punters took the steer into it. She is a very promising horse who looks to have made improvement from her luckless campaign as a 2 year old. She blew away a good field and will also go to Millions day. TIGER DIMEJAN stepped up from a maiden win on debut to be beaten 2.3L at listed level at her second career start. She has a very bright future! (as does LA FRISSION BELLE who was also on pace and raced well)

In the last race of the day SOMEDAY was well supported all day and started odds on. He got back further than expected but when he looked as though he was going to burst through a gap it shut and the horse nearly fell. M.Hellyer received 7 meetings suspension for his part in the interference. There is debate whether SOMEDAY would have won if he got through the gap but in my opinion he would have been right in the finish at the very least.

**Other things to note out of the meeting- BUSINESS DAY (our e/w best) was found to be lame in two legs after the race which explains her run.

*TWIN ZERO was also lame in two legs after his race.

Big mention to LUCKYGRAY in WA, he is a star and always a pleasure to watch race. A deserved win and plenty more to come from him.

The BLACKBOOK will be up later in the week and more to come through the week as well so be sure to check in!
